Hi sifus, between S20 Plus or Note 10 Plus, which one do you recommend? Keeping in mind the S-Pen is somewhat used

QUOTE(attw @ Mar 7 2020, 08:32 AM) DirectD selling for 3499 in store. Yeah that's true, S20 Plus being 3999 is crazy 🤧For all the flak I gave my Note 10+, I still easily recommend it over the S20+. I really can't see any value for money in the S20 range this round (unless of course if you were amongst the early birds that got a free TV). Plus you "somewhat" need the S-Pen. There's none of that for the S20! |

QUOTE(Mike3 @ Mar 7 2020, 08:52 AM) If u need pen is a no brainer. Yup the 120hz screen is so tempting. I tried it and it feels amazing. But other than that, nothing much.I think the major reason for s20 is the 120hz. Damn the refresh rate really make ur experience better. Other than that they are almost same.. |

QUOTE(attw @ Mar 7 2020, 02:32 PM) Also, for 3999, you'll be getting 8GB/128GB on the S20+. Yup that's true. S20 Plus more expensive but less storage and ram. I guess 120hz is not as worth it if you dont play games that oftenThe Note 10+ gives you 12GB/256GB. I'll take more memory and double the storage for lesser over 120hz refresh rate any day! |

Anyone with experience using Snapdragon version, does the service centre repair your Note 10 if you send there? Not for warranty, just normal repair, pay them

Curious, the June update for the Note 10 is not yet out for the Malaysian Exynos right? Or has anyone gotten an update?

QUOTE(bryant601 @ Jun 17 2020, 03:58 PM) Yeah same. My cracked note 8 got the June update too. But apparently for other regions the Note 10 have 2 updates in June, so I'm only guessing they are combining the two updates for us, so that's why it's late |

Also I've read the forums on tempered glass, but I'm wondering if anyone can share their experience more recent experience they have with any tempered glass?
I'm planning to buy from AliExpress or Shopee, but dont know if it'll be good for fingerprint for example |

QUOTE(sakuraboo @ Jun 19 2020, 09:08 PM) I didn't even bother with the cheap one Oof, that's tough. I want to apply on my own, using my own loca glue, that's what I did for my previous Note 8. It lasts better than shops. I don't think i can fix it nicely if the edges are wavy I broke one tmax tempered glass after using it for 2 weeks Currently using my second one now, has been more than 7 months Did diy and i think fixing it without the guide applicator is actually better Also used power sunlight instead of those little uv lamps for instant curing Edit: Just broke another and fixed a new one today. I think my case is very close to the tempered glass, so any low level fall would indent the edges the case close enough to break it. There is less than 0.5mm on any side Also, use a high power flashlight to see any dust so you can stick it up with the sticker Still, can't live without tempered glass because i think the environment I'm in is too sandy or something. But I am worried the fingerprint wont work because I dont know why some UV tempered glass work with the fingerprint, some dont. I wonder if it's because of the tempered glass itself, or the glue. |

QUOTE(sakuraboo @ Jun 23 2020, 02:58 PM) Guys just today i noticed my screen has a dead pixel I say BS. The top right edge appears lifted up Sent to service center, they said it's because of the loca glue ingress used in tempered glass, then it damage the lcd screen as well To replace the screen is rm1000 for note 10 plus Lucky thing under the extended warranty (marsh), so can use that to change the screen They also changed the battery Somebody posted this issue before So because of this i can't recommend the loca tempered glass anymore Sorry guys Side note: they also mentioned the tempered glass has this smell. The smell is acetone, fruity smell. Used in finger polish. The screen actually looked like it was dissolved from within instead of ingress to me I've never seen anyone in any forum say loca glue caused the dead pixel. Loca glue is also used to stick the LCD panel to the actual glass, how can it be that the loca glue we apply externally cause internal damage? Seems like it is an excuse given by the SC to not honour their warranty claim if you ask me Edit: In fact, I've used loca glue tempered glass on my Note 8, never had a dead pixel. QUOTE(Mike3 @ Jun 25 2020, 04:42 PM) wont cause dead pixel but maybe the loca glue flow into the device . If I'm not mistaken since the Note 9, the buttons can easily be taken out. Try watching JerryRigEverything's video. So if the glue flowed into the phone through the button, maybe it pushed out the buttons, but it wont cause any internal damage. At worst, I've seen Pixel 2 phones' speakers get broken because of loca glue, but that's because of improper installation.i not sure i see ppl install wrong say the power button or volume button dropped out or smth Both situations are different than a dead pixel, which is an internal damage |

QUOTE(Mike3 @ Jun 25 2020, 04:59 PM) what i meant was, they see loca glue in the device . they will try to push away the warranty. I would say maybe, maybe that's acceptable. But the original post said that the SC said dead pixel is caused by loca glue. Which makes no sense at allexample if ur water damage indicator shows water damage, even if its not related to water. they will push away saying is water damage. thats how warranty goes |

QUOTE(sakuraboo @ Jun 25 2020, 07:14 PM) The edge with the dead pixels looks like lifted up or eaten off. If it's because the screen was lifted, for me that sounds more unlikely because of the loca glue. So i guess the smudge of dead pixels is attributed to the loca glue The loca glue is specifically to stick the screen with glass, so how would the glue push the screen up, separating it from the frame. It could easily be that your phone's internal adhesive for the screen and the frame was faulty, not because of the loca glue at all. Plus, I've never heard of it from any other forums/reddit. It sounds more like SC is using this to not allow warranty claims. Which sucks |

QUOTE(sakuraboo @ Jul 1 2020, 02:55 PM) Samsung SC definitely the best SC in Malaysia. Despite me being annoyed that the SC said dead pixel because of tempered glass haha. Can fix your phone in 2 hours, covers many issues, and can usually change with no problem. Probably the only reason I still buy Samsung phones in Malaysia, despite wanting to try other brands. |

QUOTE(ridox_orimabu @ Jul 2 2020, 10:54 AM) I actually tested S6 lite, Tab A with spen, then the Tab A without. So which one did you like more? The Tab A with Spen or the S6 Lite? I'm thinking of getting a tablet too, but thinking between the S5e and S6 Lite. u can actually see big difference between the lite even to the Tab A with S pen. Guess its changing now for Android Tablet. Its getting better, and with Netflix integration its just nice for the money. ofcoz, if u take out the Spen in the S series... would people still buy it then? i doubt so My FIL very old. almost 90. he started with tablet at first. but after some years, he already get used to the cheap android phones. so i guess it takes time? same here. i was from huawei too. say.. i din see anyone here say anything about Note 20 leaked the colour is damn elegant S5e better overal tablet than S6 Lite, but S6 Lite have Spen. So...I dont know 😂 |

QUOTE(ridox_orimabu @ Jul 2 2020, 12:58 PM) Hahaha hard choice right. To me i like the s6 lite the most as i am very casual. But having another spen is like redundant d. So gonna wait for any new announcement to come for samsung tablet. If not then the s6 lite it is Haha yeah true, seems a bit redundant. But I guess for me having a pen for a tablet seems like a great option for work related stuff. I like the surface, but too expensive + limited apps that I like. S6 Lite seems like the best option at the moment |
