Jeepney hits crossing students; 7 injured, 1 dead
Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, February 12) — A speeding jeepney hit several students crossing a pedestrian lane in Makati City on Wednesday night, leaving seven injured and one dead.
The Makati City Police Station said the jeepney, whose driver was identified as Crisalde Tamparong, 31, hit the crossing high school students at J.P. Rizal St. near corner Mabini St. In Brgy. Poblacion at 7:20 pm.
The victims were ages 13 to 17 years old. All of them were rushed to the Ospital ng Makati and Makati Medical Center.
Makati Police chief PCol. Rogelio Simon said that charges of homicide and reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injury will be filed against Tamparong.
The suspect was also ordered to undergo drug test.
