Up to your preference and type of usage. You won be able to install apps (which takes most the storage on your phone) on the SD card and also store all your whatsapp contents on it. Reading and loading from SD card is also much slower compared to your phone's internal storage.

You also wont be able to use dual sim if you have your SD card inserted unless you want to mode your hybrid sim try. I destroyed a class 4 256gb Samsung SD card  trying to do that last time.
