I bought from irenic, since roadshow not given the buds+, and he included one, so bought from him easier. Who knows he also queued with friends laugh.gif
*
Road show promo is 128GB SD Card, Wireless charger and LED TV. So you got buds + instead of 128gb SD Card and wireless charger right? Seems like a better deal. hmm.gif

Should have pre-ordered then.... doh.gif

LOL.
Anyway if there is no problem, I will sure line up for Note20 if the roadshow gift is compelling enough.
Sure gonna gather like last year with all the N10 gang.

Compared with normal Buds? Thinking to let go this Buds+ but if you say its much better than normal Buds, might rethink to sell it or not. So far i heard battery life improved and better 4 dimensional thingy.
*
I'm not sure about the buds+. I am using the normal buds and its already very good for me.

QUOTE(foxtrotmike @ Mar 7 2020, 02:22 PM)
+1. Buds+ is so good I no longer miss the headphone jack 😁 This is my first phone with no headphone jack and first time using a true wireless earbuds. Btw I don't even care to touch the included USB-C headphones.
*
Wired headphones are not convenient and messy. Wireless is the way to go now.

Im outside malaysia. They have 512 unit. But for early birds gift they are not as generous as in Malaysia. Only buds+

I was considering to get a Malaysian unit due to favourable exchange rate and i’m coming home for holiday. But then only 128 unit across 3 models 😅 i know we can use SD to expand storage but still have this Apple mentality lol

Anyone happy with their 20+?
*
The thing about having larger phone storage vs the micro sd card is....

If you need the space, then go for the larger storage version. You wont be able to install apps (which consumes the most space) eg Whatsapp etc on your MicroSd card. So you get the drift.

Sorry to be a party pooper. I have the s20+ 5G 512gb unit. It comes with exynos chip. Bought mine in the UAE but on the box it says this unit is made in vietnam. So i guess s20+ 5G 512gb doesnt necessarily come with a snapdragon chip. Worth checking before buying 😅. Mine is working fine so far.

Alright. For those intending to buy imported sets or from oversea countries, you can refer to the below tables for the model number of your S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra so that you would know what model your are buying, their spec sheets, the processor (SD or Exynos), storage options etc.

For the S20

https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s2...81-differences/

For the S20+

https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s2...86-differences/

For the S20 Ultra

https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s2...88-differences/

Maybe TS SilentVampire should pin this on the first page of this thread so that forummers can have easy access to the tables above for info on the type of model of S20 they are buying.

Don't think the website is accurate as for example South Korea is using Snapdragon chip but the website states Exynos.
*
Could be South Korea could be having both SD and Exynos chipset on their S20 devices.

QUOTE(khainiz94 @ Mar 11 2020, 09:42 AM)
For no 3, not trying to defend Samsung here but the discount is available only for selected corporate and staffs only.
This has been going on for years actually.
What makes people hoohaa about it, is this time the staff can buy online, previously they have to go to Samsung store to buy it by showing their ID.
And what ruins it is the corporate/staffs is selling it for their own benefit.
If you ask any major company that produce products, they will have a special discounts for their staffs and partners.
Heck even my friend working in Intel also got discount buying any Apple product from Switch.
My friend just bought an iPhone 11 Pro Max with his Intel ID for 20% off I think.
Even the telcos also give a special benefit to their staff in terms of discounted packages and cheap smartphones.
*
Aih... still debating about the price? It is already a known fact that Samsung drops it price very fast. So no point being butthurt or anything because of that. Those who went for the road show got a terrific deal and that's it. Those who didn't manage to buy do wait for the price to drop further before buying. laugh.gif

How much does it cost there?
*
As per Ap sets brought in by sellers here, price won't be too far off the official sets here. Just that some HK sets are single sim units. Many bought the SD version for the S10/S10+ last round.

But with this kind of pricing can't tolerate it .. too much money and not getting the same treatment too all the country. That's the main issue. Almost all the country that received exynos chipset are disappointed.
*
Cant complain though. Though Malaysia is getting Exynos, the S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra is also priced amongst the cheapest if you compare prices here with prices at overseas markets.

Exactly, cant complain much since Msia one of the cheaper in the global of S20 family price even though 4.9k really kind of high side mainly due to 5G modem, 108MP camera, 120hz of 6.9" screen, UFS 3.0 etc hahhaa!!

Basically, Ultraman extra 1k compare to S20+ for...
- 108MP Camera (Still need n more costly)
- 5000m battery
- slightly bigger 6.9" screen
- 5G modem (still expensive due to none common yet)

Of cause, if compare to others brand, Sxxxx consider always more expensive hahahaha!!

Thx

All in all, I have regrets that I didn't PreOrder the S20+ because of the free LED TV. cry.gif Never missed one version of the Galaxy and Note series from S3 till the Note 10+. The free LED TV coupled with the free wireless charger, buds +, SD card really makes the purchase so worthwhile. If you have deducted the price of the freebies your phones comes up to around Rm2k++ which is truly an unbeatable deal, regardless if the proc is exynos or SD.

Well then, have to wait for the Note 20 then and see what's on offer for pre-order than.

On a side note, I would place the blame on Xisan for sapu'ing all the pre-order LED TVs and goodies and also khainiz94 for not asking me to queue together at MV. bruce.gif

same here..been holding on with S10+ currently, was quite tempted to go for S20 Ulta..but after reading reviews on the new SoC (Exynos)..maybe need to stick with S10+ for now..btw, S10+ battery idling is quite terrible to be honest.. overnight with AOD on drained almost 10%.. dunno what to say la.. brightness around 35%, HD+, all black screen, Night Mode on, wifi off, BT off, gps off, most apps being put to sleep..it still happened..memang chip problem...lol
*
I wouldn't put all the blame on the exynos proc. Samsung One UI is another cause of battery drain. One Ui is still laced with a bit too much of bloatware (Samsung's own bundled apps)

QUOTE(xisan @ Mar 12 2020, 04:01 PM)
I'm not even in top 10 in queue and you blamed me laugh.gif
When I saw the roadshow freebies, straight away looking for Ultra in garage sale. Cheaper RM50 but got the Buds+.
Dislike the wireless charger only 9W, seller keep it anyway.
*
Still a very good deal. So have you collected your TVs?

QUOTE(tisuepaper @ Mar 12 2020, 04:31 PM)
I turned off AOD and nofication apps like facebook, whatsapp, email during the time i sleep...it does help a bit,
since i dont need to use it other than the alarm to wake me up on the next morning
*
AOD is one of the No 1 battery drainer. If possible, turn it off completely. Facebook, whatsapp and email are the most frequently used apps. So cant fault it either.

Many, if not 80% of users wont be able to tell. Unless those that are tech savvy, majority of users just will use it as it is. No biggies. Most important, it comes with loal warranty and support by SME.

but i wonder why bigger screen and phone is better  ? that equals more battery consumption, plus you cant use it with one hand.

SOT on the + and ultra would be better because of the bigger capacity battery. The larger screen would definitely be easier and better to view compared to a smaller screen of the S20. SIZE of the phone though would be a personal preference.

I dont think Samsung is going to go the SD way this round for the 2020 Note. Since they had to supply the S20 series in SD to many countries this round, stocks of the Exynos would still be in high volumes. What other way to get rid of it other than putting it into the 2020 Note series?

QUOTE(Azureknight94 @ Mar 25 2020, 03:00 PM)
To be honest, don't you find the preapplied sp good already? I'm quite impressed with it now especially the oleophobic coating on it.
*
Once you go TG there would be no turning back. The smoothness and slickness of the oleo-phobic coating of TG is beyond what any plastic / silicone sp could ever be. But then again, I will use the stock SP until it peels or becomes too scratched before changing to TG.

I have to beg to differ but simply only based on the stock SP on my Note 10+. I have owned other phones with their stock SP and also TG SP as well, cheap and expensive ones.

But the original SP on the Note 10+ is, IMO, the best, notwithstanding. Provided of course you are careful and do not knock your phone around. Because if you do, not being TG, the screen will be a goner. Minimal fingerprint, smooth, no orange peel effect and covers the whole screen. In fact, no marks even from using the SPen. For these reasons, I have yet to be tempted to change to a TG SP for this phone. For most of my other phones, that would be what I will probably do after a short while.
*
Different people different preference. nod.gif Not easy to source for the stock plastic sp though and its not cheap especially those sold at Samsung stores.

Based on my own personal experience, you wont go wrong with TMax and BlueO UV glue type of TG.
