JacKiller83, make sure when you resize, don't reduce the quality. Stick to 90-100% quality.

your photos look nice, but can see a lil pixelation.

Seems like most of the photos are mis-focused. Most probably due to the photographer not used to handling a heavier dSLR and prone to handshake syndrome.

Leaving EXIF data intact for the photos will help a lot in commenting.

Handshaking and the inability to hold the camera steadily is not a major problem ... still learning mah. I've been handholding camera that weights more than 700g for so many years, I sometimes feel like I'm going to drop people's compact digicams when they ask me to shoot them with their camera, especially those thin and slim ones

maybe needing a DSLR body with battery grip could save the world for potrait orientation shooting

Good to know another D40 user here. But honestly for pic 3, u need to fix it up coz i see there something lacking on the DOF, or its too dark. Perhaps a flash might make some difference.

The last pic can be improved provided u know the rule of composition, the 3 quarter rule.

Nikon D40 problem?

no offense to the thread owner...but i must say it is his shooting and need more practice

dont think d40 problem also...i see many great works by d40 before...

As mention by member there , most pic are blur , only way to solve this problem is practise more...

Regarding the redish on the pic , i think is the reflection frm the pondok but not the D40 problem! You make the great choice of slr but maybe you will upgrade your dslr in the future, hahahhaa ....

regarding this, why there is no EXIF data when i import the RAW file from D40 into photoshop, then save in JPG?
if i shoot in JPG, then got wor....

From what I noticed from the pictures you posted, they are not taken at the correct timing. The model seems not to be in the mood or not ready yet.

For model's expression, #3 is the best of the lot. However, her face and hair are overexposed from the bright sunlight.

All the pictures are quite soft and the face of the model is mostly OOF.

Need to increase Photo shoots and decrease TFK shoots...
