Above is the thread that i just opened the night before.

Now, i have friends who know viking and i know that he sells handphones (memory cards) etc.
My prices are lower simply because i use different strategy of earning less for some products to attract buyers in.

Today, i logged in and i found my thread to be closed .


For what?

What the heck??


I want to hear publicly from him as to why viking closed down my thread.

1) On what grounds do you deem my product to be fake?

- you neither asked nor communicated with me before making a decision

2) By doing this, you have defaced my reputation as an honest trader. i have traded with so many people in the few years i've been in lowyat and have never had any problems or stopped deals.


i think this is an irresponsible, immature and unprofessional action made by viking.
i don't care whether you're a moderator on a *scary music* forum (wow.)
i know i did nothing wrong, because all my items are from one of the largest suppliers in Malaysia and i can easily prove it.

I don't have stock with me because i don't stock up, i take stock when people order.

I take it from Power Cellular, has a shop in lowyat.

It's NOT imitation. EVEN if it was imitation, he doesn't have the right to just close it down without investigating!

your thread was closed not deleted. If you are absolutely positive that you are selling genuine products at your prices, you are always welcome to provide conclusive proof and your thread will be reopened. (if you don't have stock, don't 'claim' its original unless your stock comes directly from Sony)

We have a strict policy with regards to fake memory sticks being sold as genuine. Your prices alone are enough reason for the thread to be put on hold pending an investigation.

Do not expect (or demand) that a moderator has to contact you to clear up the confusion. Did you even bother contacting or clarifying with the TE/Mod that closed your thread before demanding an explanation here?

i PMed him and miss called him quite a number of times, se7en.

like i said, however much i want to earn from my products is my call.
if i said in the top part of my thread that you can claim warranty at power cellular (located in lowyat), wouldn't that mean that it's authentic and original??


se7en - mods are not gods. if he has the right to close my thread down without investigation or rational judgement, then i have the right to demand an explanation publicly.

you've got a very big forum here, i agree and therefore, rules are tight. but that is NO justification for some careless moderator who closes without first contacting the seller.

It's no point you have missed call someone and hope he/she called you back. BTW, call him in person to clarify this matter rather than wait he calls you. In fact, you are demanding him for explanation not he MUST answer you...

dude, i called him more than 7 times . each time it rang till it hit the 'the number is busy' voice tone.

You didn't stated you called him 7 times with no answer.... Missed Call and Call without answer is 2 different thing.

i wonder if you guys are helping me answer the question : if a supplier/distributor sells in lowyat, doesn't that mean that the shop CAN'T be selling imitation products?

so spikeee, how bout buy 1 and tell us about it, or just take a sample. ur honour is at stake here.

Spikee, lets get a few things straight here.

The priority of the moderator/trade enforcer is to protect the members of the community. If we suspect there to be a problem with your thread is, it will be closed first. It would be your responsibility as a seller to provide a proper explanation as to why your sales are genuine and should be reopened.

So far, you have provided no proper proof that the products you're selling is indeed genuine.

1. you don't have stock, hence you don't have the actual product with you for the potential buyer to make a proper informed decision before buying.

2. providing warranty via a third party doesn't automatically make the product genuine.

At this point, your solution is quite simple. Get at least one of the MSPD's from your supplier and post up the pictures. There are many members from the community who will be able determine whether your product is genuine.

It would also be in your best interest to double confirm the products (since you don't have stock). Otherwise, you might sell imitation products without your knowledge and tarnish your own name.

i think the whole point of my saying all this is that i think that being a moderator, as hard as it is, it is only professional and responsible to personally inform the seller of thread closure, do you not think so?

Well, if you're talking about Plaza Low Yat, then you're wrong, there are many fake accessories, memory cards, batteries to computer parts being sold there openly. Of course, I'm not accussing you of anything blindly and I guess you should back your claims with some pictures from your supplier so that you can prove that your memory cards are indeed genuine.

Reason is that although the items are still not authenticated as genuine, but by closing the thread there's still alot ppl interested with fake cheap stuffs eventhough they knew its fake..
They still can view your thread and PM/call u to buy it...but if the thread is invisibled nobody but mods can see it.

U should be glad for he only closed it

obviously the seller must do research about the product their selling is genuine before selling. Failure to do so only make its own mistake for not clarify product leading to closed thread.

For your information, Original Sony MSPD 4GB retails at RM 399 as checked from www.sony.com.my

And the thread starter is selling at RM 162 each. that's 59% cheaper. at 59% discount, do you think any buyer will believe such price is original?

I don't get what you are trying to say here but if you are trying to say that i'm closing your thread for my own benefit, you are simply childish. I've clamped countless of MSPD threads when the seller can't prove whether the MSPD they are selling is fake or genuine.

p/s: Some of the threads i've clamped before, here, also I don't give a .... on how cheap you are selling for your MSPDs. All I'm concerned about is whether it's genuine or not. If i suspect that it's fake, Thread Closed

I've stated very clearly on your thread itself, i close your thread suspecting that the MSPD you are selling is fake.

This is not streamyx maindesk where you can call in and whine around as if the world gonna end. I'll close any threads whichever i see suspicious and of course i'll state my reasons there instead of just invisible your thread and walk off. You are welcomed to contest my decision with me via pm and I'll definitely go through with you if you can provide me sufficient proof to prove that it's genuine.

I'll answer you, the answer is NO, it doesn't mean that the item is genuine if a supplier sells it in lowyat. Pirated VCDs used to be sold at lowyat too.

should your thread ever be closed or go missing, you may contact either the mods or TEs to find out what's going on.

there's no need to start a thread firing away, it only makes yourself look bad.

all it takes is a polite PM to ask. I've come by many who did that, they politely request to know the reason and gladly complied and thread was re-opened and everyone happy.

How different is that from what viking did by posting in that thread itself his reasons for closing it? Either way, you were informed of the reasons why the thread was closed. He has discharged his professional responsibility adequately.

Hmm... from my own experiences... Only Sony will provide Oris/Genuine MSPD... Non sellers in Lowyat is selling a genuine MSDP except some photoshops owning a lot at there if I not wrong.

I believe even at dealer prices, the cheapest won't go below RM100 for a 2GB MSPD
