An inside information of Silverlake:

I have been working for close to two years with Silverlake and what I can see is:

1) Great colleagues: 2 projects I have been in and all the team members are supportive and helpful
2) Great supervisors: 2 project managers, eventhough different characters, they have their strengths but both are very helpful and friendly
3) Great HR: always ready to assist you (company chop, letter of confirmation etc) and pay always on time (earlier if payday is a weekend or publich holiday)
4) Travel: 2 overseas project and my per diem claims + basic salary, more than a fresh grad can ever hope for (per diem claim more than basic for most freshies)
5) Local: if work after office hours locally, can claim meal allowances. Weekends & Public holidays too if you work
6) Replacement leave credited into annual leave if Public Holiday falls on Saturday
7) Those who want a career, Silverlake is the place. They will push you to improve, not for you to suffer

Honestly, after two years, my salary has increased more than 50%. Due to the fact that at first I got increment (10%-15% yearly, depending on performance) and then my manager counter offered from another company. Some people might be unlucky to have a manager who is always angry, but mine is more than OK. PMO's always willing to help out in anyway possible.

I recommend Silverlake!!

Added on September 7, 2012, 7:50 pmNice stepping stone too if you intend to work for banks or IT houses. Some of my seniors already left for Maybank and CIMB (after more than 5 years working for Silverlake). Now heard they are team leads and managers. Banks pay high for programmers from Silverlake because they are using Silverlake system, so it is easy for them to maintain.

Now im in the MBSB project and soon going off to Sri Lanka for another project. My PM there already made plans for our accomodation and transportation. One thing is, if you work overseas, you get to travel back to KL once or twice a month depending on your level. And when you come back, you get 2 days replacement leave unrecorded (include Saturday & Sunday = 4 days). Enough time for you to do your errands and all.
