It's a new chrome feature that check your credentials combination against stolen data. Maybe you need to change your password.

QUOTE(ZerOne01 @ Feb 7 2020, 04:22 PM) It's a new chrome feature that check your credentials combination against stolen data. Maybe you need to change your password. I understand the message. But its very vague. An app or site. So its either me or LY. Well has anyone has came across this message before? My old windows installation did not show this. From time to time i reset chrome, clean up, malware scans & virus scans throughout the year. At least 50 times or more when the i feel the pc behaves not right. At this moment i can say the old HDD is goner with 4 years and 12K hours on it. Just that brand new fresh installation of windows & chrome got me this. Surprisingly i can have access to new computers from time to time, logged in to LY and never had gotten this message at all. Can i assume Chrome tracks passwords and uses its own password expiry message protocol? Or Google can track LY is not doing practicing users passwords protection or leak is real? |

An app or site simply means Chrome have the leaked dump from some compromised websites or apps and check your credentials against it. You can try check your credentials on haveibeenpwned.com to ensure whether your password has been compromised or not. I believe Chrome use the same dump source to warn people. Also I'm not sure if Chrome is going to warn if people use the similar password that exist in the dump eventhough with different email or anything. It might be.At this moment i can say the old HDD is goner with 4 years and 12K hours on it. Just that brand new fresh installation of windows & chrome got me this.
