I am looking for more cost efficient windows inserts, to be placed over existing window frames for soundproofing/ noise reduction

you can probably make one yourself - rubber window seal + acrylic sheet. only thing must figure out how to make the aluminum frame.

Any good contact for custom sized acrylic sheets? i probably just stick the sheet to the frames using two way tape only..

the fundamental of this is that it creates isolation effect and the rubber/foam will take the vibration generated transfer through air.

Rigid-body has a minimal damping effect, you need an exact cut sheet of + seal with a slightly overconstrain of 1mm to fit into the window frame. it will become a double glazed window

acrylic sheets is not cheap (depends on thickness) can buy from shopee, I think there is someone who can custom cut to size with a cost.

Thanks for the tips... that is something what I plan to do. I going to stick the cut sheet on the window frame, creating sort of a double pane window with an empty space. i don't really open those windows anyway so it doesn't really concern me

I found a shop selling 5mm 6 x 4' acrylic sheets for RM200+

how did this turned out for you?
I'd like to know as I want to soundproof my room window as well

Yeah it works not bad...but this may not be practical for everyone who may need to open the window, as it is attached permanently using the strong acrylic tape

Mind sharing how you did it at the end?
maybe share some photos of the end result?
