Any Asus Lyra user here? Trying to get review from first hand user without bias and monetary influence. Most of the blog reviewer sounds more like advertisement to me.

For the Trio Pack, do I still need the Unifi Wifi Router or it shall be directly connect to the Unifi Modem?

well im pretty happy with mine. Used in in a 3 story house, one in each floor. Maybe once a month need to restart the unit as it has weak connection for some reason. The instantaneous switching from one mesh to another when u move to another floor is really impressive. For some reason, only my phone will show "no internet" after switching from one mesh to another. If this happens, just reconnect , which is annoying to deal with. But overall its a good investment if u have a big house

Thanks for the review.

Did you replace the Unifi Wifi Router with the Lyra or just add on to the Unifi Router?

Wondering if it works seemlessly with Google Home / Chromecast, SmartHome Devices like Broadlink, Sonoff, August Lock, etc? TQ

I tried replacing the unifi router but didnt really work for me, so i just plug it to the unifi router as a 2nd router and it works without much setting up. Maybe u can solve the issue but i dont really want to hassle so just plug it in unifi router

Mine connected directly to the unifi modem... Cover entire 3-storey house with just one SSID...

Yes, the Lyra Trio can work with Unifi and replace the provided wireless router.

Just make sure you setup it as AiMesh mode. ASUS current AiMesh implementation is not known to cause any compatibility issues.

Unfortunately your main router is not ASUS, if you are using ASUS AiMesh compatible model you pair your Lyra Trio to form a Mesh WiFi system by using AiMesh.

BUT arguably you can. Lyra Trio does support AP mode, you can connect Lyra Trio as AP to your main router, and configured it same SSID with your main router.

The best solution is use 2 units Lyra Trio, it can completely replace you existing router and you home will be powered by Mesh.

Centralized control for your home wifi.

I like mine. It’s fast, can get 500Mbps. Bought a 2 pack. I like to add one more. If you planning on getting a 2 pack, you should buy the cheaper 3 pack and sell one to me.

that is not a good idea. For warranty claim you have to bring in the complete set 3 pack / 2 pack.

are you considering buying the lyra trio?
warranty claim is easy to solve - just exchange boxes and receipts.

Anyone experienced drastic drop in internet connection speed after installing Lyra as node to AC86U?
What i did - powered up Lyra, LAN to AC86U - update Lyra's firmware - reset Lyra - link Lyra to AC86U using AC86U app's aimesh.
Not only the Lyra's connection is just 20mbps+ (i am using Unifi 500mbps) but speed check on my AC86U also at similar 30-50mbps (usually i can easily get 200mbps+ at that spot).

The slow speed on my AC86U remained slow after i disconnect (powered off) the Lyra. Only back to normal (200mbps+) the next day. Anyone know why like this?
