So, you case applies to everyone?

Your case may be lucky one, but I know many who got 3 months visa for starters and did get multiple checks

I asked the Immigration officer and it seems they only renew your visa for 5 years once you have a child. Until then it's on a 1 year basis.

Apply married permission is easy but spouse visa more documentation need. If your future wife is working prepare to be out of job for around a year during the process.

Depend on your address. KL office is more smooth than selangor. Directly go to immigration office asking for checklist because different office diffrent document... different requirements.

yes. need to resign and do LHDN clearance

*it supposes to be a social visit visa. which mean she need to a trip to home and return. need to consult with immigration regarding this as it's difficult in this current condition.

You may visit this page, https://www.facebook.com/FSSGMY. Updated information regarding foreign spouses seeking assistance and information.
I am also married to a foreigner. It has been 5 years now and the renewal is easy and fast. Done the renewal last year during MCO and everything is smooth without waiting for too long like before.
For the first-time application, you may drop by to immigration office to get the supporting forms for the spouse visa application. You need to submit all the relevant documents required. The immigration officer will give you a checklist for this. Good luck

for first time application, which immigration branch did u go to? can go shah alam or must be putrajaya?

The best thing to do is to go to the Thai consulate and get a checklist of all the forms needed. Also, go to the Immigration department and get the forms needed from them also. Make sure you fill them up then submit to the Thai Consulate and Immigration department. Most people fail to get their documentation right, hence they have to make a few trips to the relevant departments.

Will follow where is your residence address. I'm staying in Setapak so I went to Immigration Jalan Duta. If you are staying in Selangor then go to Shah Alam. Those who go to Putrajaya are mostly married to African and China National if not mistaken. Just comply with the documentation required, all will be smooth.

Does anyone knows as a sponsor ( I'm a Malaysian) can we use rental of our property as income (more than rm2.5K) to apply for Spouse visa for my wife (foreigner)?
I was retrenched back in 2020 so fortunately i do have alternative income which is collecting prop rental as my income.....so can i use that income to be a sponsor?
anyone can advise?

I have just gotten a Spouse Visa for my wife for the first time(I’m a Malaysian). The immigration officer mentioned something about some officers will be visiting us at home unannounced to check if our marriage is legit or not. Is this true and if it is, what are they actually checking and what are they gonna ask. Also, what if during that time, the both of us are not at home when the officers arrive? Do we ‘fail’ to continue with the Visa?
*
It depends on Immigration, imm Sha Alam doesn't check at all but in Johor , they check as my friend told me

In shah alam then nope

When I applied, they told me rental income not taken into consideration

Maybe can ask your siblings or parents as sponsor
