No need to terminate. Go to Maxis centre/agent to register your desire fibre plan. Inform you are transferring from Unifi.
You will get a transfer ID. Bring the transfer ID to Tmpoint, tell them you want to switch to Maxis. Need to do Thumbprint and pay outstanding + 1 month advance.
Tm will approve/reject your transfer in 10 working days. Once approved, Maxis will call and arrange for installation.
Your Unifi will still run for few days after installation. Any balance TM will refund when they close your account.

Thanks for the writeup really helpful.

I am having Unifi out of contract with surplus payment in. Was wondering what will happen with excess.
I tried reaching out to maxis customer service and sales@maxis-fibre.net.my to see any offers etc but no one layan. From the website there is only free plush Dino toy dry.gif
I am trying to see if there is this 6months deal for transfer or some interesting offer.

Either way, I need to make decision to swap over to Maxis or start new contract with Unifi soon. My 5g wifi abit out dy.. off and on got issues as well.

If you do switch out, any surplus payment will refund after TM close the unifi account. Last time they refund through cheque posted to my address, you have to livechat or call TM to check if the same refund mechanism still apply.
Btw Maxis current promo, free 6 months only for 300mbps and 500mbps. 100mbps get free 3 months.
On top of that, there is rm10 rebate for 24 months, e.g. 100mbps is rm89 instead of rm99 for the first 24 months.
If you plan to recontract with Unifi, check out their SWU 4.0 plan from the Unifi thread.

Thank you!. I just read this thread and unifi swu latest thread as well. Looks like kena switch on my Haggling mode cool2.gif .

Walk in Maxis, check 6months promo on for 500mbps, get transfer ID
Walk in TMPoint, raise request to terminate, expect to get SWU offer
Accept/deny either offers and finally wait for the installer dramas.
* I assume if I accept unifi SWU offer, the initial registration contract with Maxis will void off.

I also tempted to google search and many "authorized reseller" appearing. I even try click one reseller Whatsapp and there is a proper automated Whatsapp system until it asked for IC photocopy etc, then I felt not so secured and a little shady. So difficult to get Maxis Customer care to validate about their authorized dealer and these dealers do not even respond to email or Whatsapp. I wonder if we get stuck with an issue with them, it will be tough to work with them. I think best to work directly with Maxis/Unifi.

Thanks again and very useful guidance @YoungMan. I will feedback my journey here.

I walked in Maxis center Sunway Pyramid today.

No more 6months free switch promo direct from Maxis. Maybe resellers can offer but they not sure about it.

Their switch promo is 500mbps is for rm129 for 2yrs. Also they have more cheaper add on options for TV and gadgets compared to the website. They told me this just released yesterday so they will publish this online soon.

Also for switch program, no more transfer ID. Once I initiate on Maxis Center, next is TM will give me a call and counter offer me. If I reject TM offer, Maxis and TM installer will come to my house and set up the Wifi.

The fibre router comes with a free lte dongle for 4g internet backup Incase fibre goes down.

I had to bring IC and the latest unifi bill(Softcopy).

Thank you all for the help. I just summarize my user experience here.

Pre 23 Jan
- Having issues with Unifi support. Slow, connection issues, router problem. Unifi bills packaged with Hypptv and they refuse to remove it, stating price will be revised back to ori for broadband. Got fed up eventually and decided to switch.

20-25 Jan
- Survey around and with the help of this thread, got a clear picture what to do to switch.

25/26 Jan
- Walked in to Maxis Center Sunway. New process introduced.
- They offered some package as I am postpaid customer, no 6months free campaign by Maxis Center but resellers might have different campaign. Maxis offered much cheaper monthly payment x24.
** Ensure you get a copy of their promo when they offer you. It will not be in the contract, not in the order forms and call center will not be aware on their system. Get a copy when you are at the center itself.
- No need Transfer ID. Maxis will get Unifi to call customer within 48hours and approve/reject transfer request.
- Also Maxis center have more Add on packages not listed on the website or retailers. I got a TV for 24months deal.

- Next day, Maxis called again and reconfirm only about the switch process.

1/2 Feb
- No updates from Unifi still(7 working days). Called Unifi and emailed them. Both replies gave me a very bad user experience telling me to wait 10days if no calls and it will auto approve. I had a feeling they enjoy throwing the template to wait 10days.
- Called Maxis call center and they manage to give the Transfer ID but they still see the status pending from Unifi.
- I immediately raised an aduan at MCMC stating intentional delay from Unifi and abuse of processing period. The 10days is for negotiation and process not let user wait out.
- Once informed TM that I raised MCMC complaint of delay, I got a very disgruted call from TM officer to approve the transfer, they do not want to hear why I am unhappy about Unifi.

5 Feb
- Aduan MCMC acknowledge email(4 working days)

7 Feb
- Maxis installer came with Unifi, replaced the broadband, all working fine. Getting good speed with the new Kaon Wifi6 Router.
- Suprisingly, Got an update on Aduan MCMC from help@tm.com.my on my ticket that issue has been resolved. So aduan MCMC still legit and works. (https://aduan.mcmc.gov.my)
- Maxis now initiating the TV delivery arrangements through their Device dealer (MTT or NTT) to get the TV to my house. Might be delay due to CNY.

Will update this thread again for the Unifi refund as well. I most likely will make 1 email, 1 call (expect them to be sacarstic and rude about it), record it and straight make aduan MCMC next day about delay of refund process.

Update
15 March
- Send email to TMNET help@tm.com.my for refund. They asked for IC. Then they gave a service number and stated wait 3 months for refund.
- I checked their T&C does not have this, but their website policy has this. This can be amended as per their liking. I am currently demanding for the contract agreement stating 3months for refund. Will eventually send some email follow ups and then proceed to liaise with MCMC to demand for their contract or refund immediately. Not sure why they need 3 months. We do not pay a month or 2 also TM throw tantrum. brows.gif

How is your speed test? Do you get the subscribed speed or Unifi capped slightly lower?
*
both subscribed at 500mbps
Unifi
- direct LAN cable to wifi router, i get 300ish up/down never above 400mbps. One of the reasons I was not happy with them.

Maxis
- upstairs wifi AP (upstairs 5g wifi > upstairs switch<2GbpsLAGports>downstairs switch > Maxis 6g wifi LAN port) - getting 530 download/98 upload
- still upstairs but connect direct to downstairs maxis wifi6 AP (very good signal + shared SSID with other devices) - getting 490 download/95 upload
** Initially i asked Maxis installer why upload is capped, he says its normal for Maxis...
** Amazed with the wifi6 speed upstairs. Almost full wifi strength bar connecting direct to downstairs AP. Just makes me think how much of RF signals bouncing off in my house and its transmission strength. One of the reasons I pull cable upstairs and downstairs.

***Extra Info***
***LAg setup is quite easy as well but need some basic networking knowledge else it will be alien stuff. (LAg, link aggregation is a process of binding 2 or more LAN ports for higher LAN throughput, eg, 2x1Gpbs port joined)
2 x TPLink SG105E(rm100 per switch) - https://static.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/TL-SG105E_V2_UG.pdf - pg18 talks about trunk
2 x 10meter Cat6 Cables(rm25 per cable)
- Some masonry drilling skills (power hammer drills + long drill bits)
- run cables to switches, configure to bond/lag them, assign the right VLANs
- configure upstairs AP to point to downstairs AP for WAN
