Guys... I m an Unifi user now. Plan to migrate to Maxis fibre.. but was informed no port available for switching. I m wondering why cant Maxis use my existing Unifi port. Anyone has encountered such a problem? Is this port full is a valid reason and any ways to overcome this? Pls advice guys. Thanks.

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Sep 29 2020, 02:50 PM) Do you go through the correct process? To switch from Unifi to Maxis, first you go and register your Maxis Fibre. Bring along your Unifi bill so it's easier for them to trace your address. After register, bring the transfer ID, go to TMPoint and inform them you want to switch ISP. TM will process the switching in 10 working days and release the line to Maxis. It's just like MNP. Gone are the days you can install Maxis first then terminate Unifi. If you cannot walk in to both TM and Maxis center, maybe there's some agent which can help you settle everything. Thanks for the inputs. I have enquired with Maxis. They said will use the existing port. Waiting for their technical team to provide me the TR code. Will bring the code to TM point once I have it.

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Sep 29 2020, 07:38 PM) Usually if register at center the TR code is instant. Anyway keep us updated. I received the TR code from Maxis yesterday. Did submit to TM on the same day itself and later got a call from Maxis stating the received the request and will call again in few days to set installation appointment. My existing 500mbps can get full speed using 5ghz. Hope I can get the same speed.

QUOTE(shamsay @ Oct 15 2020, 09:51 PM) so how's the performance after switch to Maxis? I m getting the same speed with Maxis fibre as well. I reused my Tenda AC1900 coz Maxis router wasnt giving me full home coverage. So no complains. Now waiting for my 65" TV. Most probably by 2nd week of Nov.

QUOTE(Anonymous26 @ Oct 20 2020, 04:28 PM) In terms of stability, definitely UniFi is much better, been using my Maxis Fibre for around 1 year, facing a lot of issue which including packet loss, ping spike and slow speed during peak hour. The technical team came to my place replaced a new router for me but the problem still persist. I believe the bandwidth of Maxis Fibre around my area is congested, therefore the issue arise only during peak hour. Luckily Maxis Support is surprisingly quite good for my case and their customer service is available 24 hours, currently trying to make a follow up complain to Maxis, hopefully they will fix my issue. Beside this, Maxis One Prime is pretty much worth the money thou, this is the reason I'm still staying with them. Already 2 weeks migration from TM to Maxis... i dont feel any different. Maybe due to using back my Tenda router. When initially using Maxis Archer c5v for few hours I did felt some drop in download speed but once I changed back to Tenda started getting back the same speed as TM. The Maxis installer did only change the router and connected it to LAN 2. No new fibre rewiring or new modem. I m still wondering if Maxis is having their own fibre bandwidth or its the same as TM's. Maybe some Sifu can enlighten.

QUOTE(JayceOoi @ Dec 11 2020, 12:16 PM) Finally, last contract month on UniFi. Going to switch to Maxis. So I need to go Maxis Center to apply and submit transfer ID to TM. Right? For those who just switched, any downtime when porting from UniFi to Maxis? Yes you need to apply at Maxis center and submit the transfer ID to TM. No down time coz its similar to MNP. Maxis actually uses existing TM modem. New maxis router connected to LAN 2 port. Fyi. LAN 1 is for Unifi and LAN 2 for Maxis. Thats all internet connection continues without an issue.
