Hi All,

Received my Corolla Altis celestite grey 2 weeks after booking in April. SA made special arrangement to get 2 weeks delivery. At first, I had a tinge of regret since I had downgraded from an 8 year old Camry. But after a month, very happy with the Corolla. Changed the stock tyres (Dunlop SP Sports) to Michelin Primacy 4 with small trade in amount and the car is a lot quieter and refined. The Dunlop made a sound like banging an empty oil barrel every time it hits a bump. Dimensionally Corolla is 45 mm narrower and 190 mm shorter than Camry XV50 but interior feels a lot smaller. Since not many Corolla 12th gen on the road, I feel kinda unique and won't mistake my car in the parking lot!

Plus points:
- Very good fit and finish being CBU Thailand
- Relaxed drive, handles bumps and undulations without jarring
- Good handling
- Loaded with tech Toyota Safety Sense
- Android Auto is great even though using cable. Can use Waze from phone that is displayed on the 9" screen and navigation can be used while using radio. Can control navigation and radio volume separately
- Rear aircon vents can be turned off (eg when only 2 passengers in front)
- All speed radar cruise control can be used in slow moving traffic down to zero km/h (have to reactivate if stopped too long). When LTA (Lane Trace Assist) is turned on, the car can drive itself for short distance before it warns you to take the wheel. I tried this in low speed traffic but wouldn't recommend at high speed.

Minus points:
- Lack of storage spaces except for 2 cup holders. Front cubby space taken up by wireless phone charger, which works, but when phone slides around due to cornering, the charging stops when the phone is off centre in the charger space. The console box in the middle is also very small and there are no holes in the door armrests (to put house keys, for eg)
- Infotainment screen display is a bit dim, even at brightest setting
- Sound system is just so-so

Here's the full list of tech features:
- 7 airbags
- TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) chassis with double wishbone rear suspension
- CVT (Continously Variable Transmission) 7 speed simulated with paddle shifters
- PCS (Pre-Collision System) for autonomous emergency braking
- DRCC (Dynamic Radar Cruise Control) at all speeds
- AHB (Automatic High Beam)
- LDA (Lane Departure Alert)
- LTA (Lane Tracing Assist)
- TPWS (Tyre Pressure Warning System)
- EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) with Auto Brake Hold
- BSM (Blind Spot Monitor)
- DVR (Digital Video Recorder) front and rear
- PVM (Panoramic View Monitor) for 360 degree view
- VSC (Vehichle Stability Control) with TRC (Traction Control)
- HAC (Hill-Start Assist Control)
- VTS (Vehicle Telematics System) to trace car if stolen
- ESS (Emergency Stop Signal)
- ECO and SPORT mode with paddle shifters
- Electrochromic (auto dimming) rear view mirror
- Auto headlights with Follow-Me-Home Function
- Auto rain sensing wipers with auto wiper speed control
- Auto folding wing mirrors when locking the car
- Android Auto and Apple Carplay
- Wireless Qi phone charger

You can get in touch with my SA, Hugo at +60 18-773 3736, and see if he can get a fast delivery for you.

Cheers!

Thanks for your sharing.
Regarding the tyre matter, the ori is 225/45/17, but the new michelin primacy 4 is 205/55/17.....can it fit in properly?

Hi,
Primacy 4 is available in 225/45/17 although I don't know why they don't include in their website (I also checked Michelin Malaysia website and couldn't find it. My mechanic got the right size for me).

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hi All,

For those who find the 12th gen Corolla's internal storage somewhat lacking, can consider this item. It is a small container that is wedged in between the centre console and front seat. Not very large, but can hold house keys and a bottle of hand sanitizer (or a mobile phone or face masks) in order to free the cup holders for, well, holding cups! rclxm9.gif

You could fit 2 of these (left and right front seat gaps) but for me, 1 is sufficient otherwise the cup holder will get blocked.

Can get from Shopee here: https://shopee.com.my/product/42583013/3107795221
Comes in 3 colours and has a rubber piece at the bottom to stop stuff from sliding around. Doesn't look like genuine leather, probably not for RM 17.90. Note: I'm not the seller, just sharing here in case any one might be looking for something like this.

Cheers!Attached Image
