Should put that as a disclaimer or something in your post with the URL, I think.

From what I've seen, not all the media have reported about this.

Some bikers got wind of the news, speculated, and cleared their 250R quickly.

You mean they sold their Ninja 250s because of that news? blink.gif

Yes, speculating that the new bikes will priced lower, and so on so forth.

I see. I'd wait until official news and confirmation before I even try to let go of my 400.

Enjoying its compactness (relative to 250cc and above bikes) and general ease of use so far. I would be very sad to have to let it go because of something like this.

pandulaju !!

Modenas Ninja 250 ABS !

https://pandulaju.com.my/ini-betul-betul-bu...ar-di-malaysia/

cheaper than R25??

tru modenas can sell cheaper + gain market share??
*
Definitely can at least match the r25 price now. I'm curious to see if this means they'll be rebadging stuff like the versys 250 or 300.

Also a bit concerned about how spare parts and such will be managed. Now that the bikes become cheaper and more accessible, the demand for parts is going to increase, and if not dealt with, bike thieves may target kawis like they target the smaller KTM Dukes.

its way before this modenas kawa colab made public..

z650 pre reg til today still got stock it seems...

Serdang Motors right? I was considering their offer when I was gonna buy my 400, but wasn't too keen on the Z650 or Ninja 650.

Anyway, right now the main concern is what's going to happen to the support for pre-existing Kawa owners below 700cc. I'm still going to hold on to my bike because I like it so much, but if Modenas is taking over dealer and servicing for Kawa then I may run into issues...

You think too much

Better think too much than think too little, IMO. Anticipating issues beforehand saves me from nasty surprises.

Anyway, that reply was 10 months ago. Have had to let go of my bike since then because of financial issues during MCO. Now also haven't recovered yet and haven't replaced it since I am working from home.

Paultan 'insider' estimates the price to be 34k for SE and 38k for RR which seems more realistic.
