I belive this idea that all muslims need to have arab names is a Malaysia thing, not a muslim thing. Sure there is a tradition that the first born son is named Muhammed. But it's absolutely not a requirement for conversion. And has not been in Malaysia either for several years. Totally ok to keep old name.
