Thank you so much for the respect, Tuan notworthy.gif

although we are only operating within our ZEE, with our enemies CG ship getting larger and larger, i believe MMEA also need to have at least 1 large enough CG ship.
*
MMEA mmg propose untuk 2 large vessel
Tetapi sekarang ni masa mmea sendiri kelabu
To date akan ada new 6 unit NGPC about 300 tonne large patrol ship. Tp tengah buat lagi la

MMEA surely need a bigger ship, at least as big as indonesian CG. One of CG task is bluffing. How to bluff with small and weak ship?

PRC CG already stationed at james shoal for a long time. How to drives them out?

Even a war is a diplomatic way.
Talking is cheap, need to show a firm presence in dispute area.
One day this china bullshit claim in SCS will invite US come in big number. US have big interest on SCS, it is a busy sealine. SK and Japan also need a free SCS. Trillions dollar trade uses this route.

US+japan+SK+asean need to sit together and make a military pact if china crazy act is going worst.

Like what u said, need firm presence in the area.
But our country are so poor can't afford too many ships. Who to blame?
Orang sendiri tak mahu kerja kuat, gov collect less tax, plus corruption is OK for decade.
China (& Taiwan) has claimed that area for decades. No one give a shxt because they were poor.

With the recent incursions by PRC fishing boats escorted by PRC Coast Guards in Natuna is making Indonesia more determined to buy 138 -140 meters Naval Vessels for the Indonesian Navy and built more Coast Guard vessels this year.

China Violates the Natuna Sea Zone, Luhut: Our Patrol Vessels Are Lacking

Coordinating Minister Luhut also suggested that the Indonesian government need to buy a new ship size 138-140 meters frigate class.

tirto.id - The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that Indonesia lacks ships to patrol the North Natuna Sea.

Luhut said that this was a case that needed to be addressed in responding to China's claim to the North Natuna Sea.

"Yes, if we don't attend, people attend.  So we are actually the first to get angry at ourselves.  We don't have enough ships, "Luhut said to reporters when met at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Friday (1/3/2019).

The Natuna Sea polemic began when China was considered to make a one-sided claim on the North Natuna Sea through the Nine Dash-Line issued by the country.  Through this map, China recognizes the North Natuna Sea as part of its territory both land and water.

In December 2019, Chinese naval vessels appeared at the border of North Natuna waters.  Their position was later found to be illegally entered.

From the results of his talks with President Joko Widodo, Luhut claimed the government would increase domestic ship production.  He explained that Indonesian Navy ships would be added more.

"Now the president has ordered today to build more of our ships, our coast guard to patrol," Luhut said.

Luhut also suggested that Indonesia needs to buy a new ship size 138-140 meters frigate class.

He said during Indonesia's independence, this type of ship had never been owned.

He said this he had communicated with the Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto.  "And I suggested that there be a larger ocean going ship.  We have never had it as long as this republic was independent.  So right now the one who was with Pak Bowo, wants to buy the 138-140 meter frigate, "said Luhut.

When asked where the ship would be bought from, Luhut could not confirm it.

He handed it over to Prabowo both in terms of price and the origin of the producing country.  To be sure, he planned if the ship could be purchased this year.

"This year [buy] I think so," said Luhut.

Iver huitfeldt is incoming.....bravo to indonesia government.
Meanwhile....james shoal already occupied for some years.
Need to learn from SG. Even if your are small but must show that you can't be bullied easily.

138 meter is definitely Iver Huitfeldt...but it's outclassed by Type 052D

Chinese have six Type 052 C/D destroyers in South Sea Fleet alone

Beside the Danish Iver Huitfeldt and the Dutch Damen Omega Frigate competing for Indonesia Future Frigate there is also another European country offering its frigate and its a proven design.

Omega seems to have four 8-cell VLS packages, similar to Sylver (32 cells in total). If it will use Aster, then Omega is roughly on par with Formidable class

I think that is an old Omega Frigate picture. The proposed Omega Frigate which Damen dubbed as FFI (Future Frigate Indonesia) is equipped with Millennium Gun CIWS.

I haven't kept myself updated,

Whatever the design is, I hope it will not be less than 32 VLS cells...

Having two Millenniums may seem nice, but the focus should be on fleet defense, not self-defense.

Leonardo 76mm gun.

QUOTE
Weapons and other sensors

The weapons and sensor suite depends on customers requirements as usual. However the scale model on display at Indodefence shows the Omega frigate fitted with a 127mm main gun by leonardo, a 76mm secondary gun (non penetrating variant) by Leonardo on top of the helicopter hangar, a Rheinmetall Millenium CIWS, 2x Leonardo Hitrole remote weapon stations, 8x Kongsberg NSM anti-ship missiles, 4x Rheinmetall MASS decoy launchers, a Thales Kingklip hull mounted sonar and a Captas-4 variable depth sonar, 4x satellite link antennas and 2x Thales Mirador EO systems. For air defense, the scale model shows 24x VLS cells (likely VL MICA NG for Indonesia or ESSM Block 2 for Netherlands and Belgium).
