how to learn guitar and to be expert??by not disturbing yours academic pointer.

i think dat i like guitar so much and im trying to learn it.
i has friend who can play guitar well.

btw i think by learning this can distract my focus on acadamic so much.this wut i worried..

ive got good pointer before, around 3.5 above,i worried if i learn play guitar can destroy my acdemic piointer after this.

can u all advise me how to learn guitar by not affect my acdemic life??

In life, you can be professionally or expert in only ONE THING.

Go figure.

i just wanna make it as a hobby..not as expert as u think to be a guitarist??noo..just make it as hobby..i wanna become engineer..dat my ambition is..

Then simply go ahead and learn it and arrange more time for your academic.

Practice in the afternoon/evening and study at night. Can still get in around 3 hours of practice per day.

practicing chords and strums wont take too long

unless you're talking about technical riffs and solo here

it's all about time management. . . tell yourself to at least practice an hour a day. . . i'm sure you can take 1 hour off your computer time and practice guitar. . .

it's all about discipline. . . you're old enough to be able to manage your own time =)

It is possible. Isnt too hard actually. Its all about time management and making the most out of the little time you have. why I say its possible is because I could do it. I did a 3.94 last semester (im studying mechanical engineering), so see its not impossible. Not only as I'm a guitarist who plays for Sam and Monkeykat, I also play for church and serve in other different church ministries. Not to mention i read alot, am picking up keyboard, do watch movies quite often, watch tv series, hang out with friends, lepak online (and here at LYN) alot, etc.

I am very sure u can put aside 2 hours a day (if u are really serious; if not, just 1 hour/day will do) to practice.

with so many good instructional books/DVDs, youtube, p2p, great guitar websites and LYN(where u can ask questions), learning isnt as difficult as it used to be.

wow..maybe u r genius..act i play pc game a lot..i just have last minute study when exam is around the corner..maybe 1 week before exam...

it is possible to learn guitar by not having tutor and just read guitar's book/website??

i understand wat u worried, like echo said.... the important thing to u now is time management, if u r really interested and willing to put effort... arrange urself at least 1 hour perday to practice. this is wat i got frm them as well... and now at least i can play....

about instructor... it depends actually.... i think if u are affordable... go to find instructor.... this will help u in terms of understand more in ur instrument and ur playing method.... coz if u look online or study by books without instructor... u might done something wrong and can't figure out... am i right?

You can also find your friend whom you mention. Maybe can play some duet with him next time and all.

yeah im think dat way too..discipline myself..arrange time for guitar practice..maybe 2hours per day..before play futsal at evening..

act how long normally ppl can play well guitar??

If still not okay, borrow one from your friend first and try.
