Lately I been thinking to buy a new car, but my parents advised me to use back the old car to save money. The problem is that old car everything just feel sucks, no power bad suspension, bad design, bad control, bad sound system, and old tint. The current car I'm using is an 10 years old 1st gen myvi. I'm not sure should I invest my money to refurbish the car, *hopefully the can get back to at least 7/10 condition. To fix all those problem I mentioned, I think probably need at least 5 to 10k I guess. So in my opinion, buying a new might just save the hassle no worry about other thing. What do you guys think?

Refurbish the old car or Buy a new car?

Will the old car become nice to drive and use if I refurbish it?

If you can afford the new one, supporting the 7-9year loan ... I don't see why not, unless your aim is to save money; and bruh, having the latest MYVI is in no way good on your pockets.

accounting the fact you don't have to service a loan after spending close to 5 figure refurbishing the old myvi, does not guarantee it'll run perfectly for another 10 more years to come.

I gave up my 21yo Wira due to numerous problems and spending most of my days off in the workshop, not to mention it's drinking petrol like a thirsty cow.

Best write down a list of the pros and cons of both cars and compare them yourself, it'll give you a clearer picture.

... but since you're opening a thread about this, we all know where you're leaning towards.
