Am in a pickle here... bought and opened a few durians the other day and kept them all in a container in the fridge so they can be consumed gradually.

Yesterday, my younger cousin took it out without telling me and proceeded to let it sit in the kitchen (lid on) until today! It's been almost 24 hours since...

So the question is: can I just put it back in the fridge and pretend nothing had happened...? Of course, I checked for things like the smell and appearance: smell-wise, it's still as-is but not as strong as before, and appearance-wise, it looked like it dried up a little.

Any help or pointers will be appreciated, and thanks in advance!

Left it there longer and you get tempoyak or fermented durian haha.

If i were you i would just pretend nothing happened and eat it.

I don't think there is a big deal about this. You won't simply get botulism from durian that kept in room temperature of your very own kitchen. Unless your surrounding is not hygienic.

However it's better to hear opinion from others.
