No Day 1 1st party, no thanks. At the rate I'm holding off getting new releases on my PS5, it'll just be a glorified dust collecting white tower.

Wanted to get Horizon FW, but ER just made ALL open world games seems poor in contrast. Not to mention all the hand-holding in these games, unlike the freedom in ER.

I'll continue be selective with my games. Or spend more time in quality, content-rich ones, like ER.

Had the intention of scaling down to this with intention of being portable and movable until I got myself a Z13. With most of my library in PC, the Z13 made more sense. Needed to take profit off bullish crypto anyway, Z13 paid in full with that.

Yes, my PS5 has been collecting massive amount of dust. lol

Gamepass has been keeping me busy.

I've been LIVING in Elden Ring for 4 weeks already, and I've yet to cover it all. Still discovering things. Best money spent, shows you dont need GaaS or Live service to be successful with your games.

I'm not kidding when I say I've been LIVING in ER. Living, breathing, thinking ER. Before I sleep I think about the next questline to do tomorrow after I wake up. This addiction is worse than when Bloodborne had me in its grip last time.

I'm a sucker for story and lore, every new area discovery means new story, new lore. Every new enemy, NPC, boss met and/or kill means new story, new lore. There's new story and lore attached to dropped equipment, items. Every new update of the game FromSoft adds new content, new area, new enemies, new story, new lore. You only have to look around and be inquisitive.

And then, there's the limitless number/combo of builds you can do with armaments, armor sets, spells, skills, incantations, sorceries, ashes of wars, talismans and fine balancing them to get max damage without overloading your max load.

Gotta go. I'm doing another sweep of Leyndell and Raya Lucaria.

Hello fellow tarnish, I'm 80 hours in, already SL155 OP with Fallingstar beast jaw+9 & Death Poker+9 combo, but still yet to complete Lindell, which I've arrived last week laugh.gif
this whole week just running around doing side quests and exploring
screwed up some side quest already due to fooling around here & there, gotta redo them in NG+, but that will still be months away tongue.gif
still yet to fully explore Caelid, that's one area in the game that I dislike the most

I think my own quoted post above yours gives a good idea of my build.

I'm obsessed with her the moment I saw her battle with Radahn in the trailer leading to the game's launch.

Malenia's armor set and all her attributes of her remembrances and her skill. I could dual wield her Blade of Miquella but I nearly got heart attack trying to clear her the first time in Haligtree/Ephael I'm not going through that again, I'm going to keep my left armament to a spell casting armament. Lusat Glintstone Staff, although I also have Renalla's Carian Scepter Staff. Radagon's Icon Talisman and Great Jar's Arsenal Talisman for their spell casting speedboosting and max load equip. Comet Azure for long range.

I keep the Darkmoon Moonlight GreatSword from Ranni's questline, Wing of Astel and Sword of Night & Flame equipped as well. Sentimental value for the GreatSword becase I love Ranni's ending (I never got married in a a game before!), Sword of Night & Flame and Wing of Astel curved sword because they give awesome crowd-control/crowd-clearing skills. Astel's Nebula for example scales excellently with better stats.

Speaking of endings, I've done the Age of Fracture/Elden Lord ending, Age of The Stars ending and Lord of Frenzied Flame ending. I'm mulling over if I should continue with Dung Eater's questline for the 4th ending, and Fia's next for the 5th ending, after that Goldmask's for the last of the three optional ending.

I'm just sweeping through every nook and cranny of the Land Between now, to see if there are any unexplored areas left. Last new update found Jarburg and that "unfinished" area under Gurranq's Bestial Sanctum tower with the secret daggers.

Now in Journey 4. Or ++++NG, stats carryover.

Just snapped up RM40 upgrade for Death Stranding Director's Cut PC on Steam. Got the base game on sale too last Steam sale. The PC Director's Cut is more than a year late after it appeared on the Playstation platform. That shows how much I care about playing it "first" on its first release platform.

Played it a bit but abandoned it after newer shinier games came out.

I remember firing up "Secret of Monkey Island" on my old EGA-graphics color palette IBM clone PC in the 90s. Every other playthrough after that, was on ScummVM. Then "Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge".

Any "Monkey Island" game not written by Ron Gilbert does not interest me. Therefore no "Monkey Island" game existed after "LeChuck's Revenge" as far as I'm concerned.

Please be good.

Elden Ring vs modern live service/GaaS AAA games
= delayed gratification vs instant gratification
= holding it as long as possible until the pleasurable final release climax vs premature ejaculation.

Yes, I just called modern Live service, GaaS AAA games "premature ejaculation".

At least I can ditch the huge ass dongle to connect the controller wirelessly, since Series controllers are BT. Been using my aging PS4 controller with the Z13. Thumbstick button L3 on that controller sunken already. Too much sneaking around in Elden Ring with L3 button. lol.gif

im no longer using DS4 for PC gaming. using Series controller either using BT or wired (with battery removed). but now no longer sit at PC for gaming, only at XSX. buy local co-op game for fun.
*
Contrary to the abundance of gaming options in my sig, I reuse the accessories until they totally fall apart, or stop working properly enough to disrupt my gameplay session. A sunken L3 button is not enough to make me run out and buy a new controller. I dont mix and match my console controllers. The PS5 controller stays with PS5. The Halo Infinite controller remain pristinely unused (only because I got a free black Series controller from ATO when I got the Halo Infinite XSX console from them). The PS4 controller is from a PS4 I've sold off for collecting dust, in which its current successor PS5 is now threatening to do the same, collecting even thicker layer of dust. lol.gif PC connected to living room OLED played with wireless controller is where I game most.

Z13 how? Only because I LUST for it and I WANT IT BADLY. lol.gif

XSX for GPU.
PS5 for whenever the promised console exclusives supposed to land. Although my interest to get HFW is totally deflated by the much superior Elden Ring.
PC for everything else.

And everything played in the living room. Including the PC. Like a console. Wirelessly. On the couch.

I dont "sit at PC for gaming", which I'm assuming the typical sitting on a gamer seat hunched over a PC table with mouse and keyboard. I can afford NOT to do that since I dont stream to whatever social medium out there to tell the world I'm playing my games on PC, that requires "sitting at PC", I dont play eSports games nor do I play competitive online multiplayer games that requires "sitting at my PC" to do so. My PC gaming session is just like yours, sitting on your couch playing XSX. Everything, XSX PS5 PC connected to the living room OLED C1 TV. Everything controlled wireless with their respective wireless controller. icon_rolleyes.gif

Malenia difficult meh?

I defeated her twice, once the first time on first Journey, second time on Journey 2 when I wanted to keep her Remembrance without sacrificing that for her weapons, armor set and skill at Enia Finger Reader at the Roundtable Hold. To see if I can dual wield her Hand of Malenia sword.

It's more difficult, or more tedious to GET TO Malenia, than fighting her. Elphael/Haligtree is filled with treacherous narrow roots you have to manouver or fall to your death, and enemies that can overwhelm you with points of grace far and few in between. Beating Malenia is about reading her telegraphed actions, she always has the wind-up animation she does before launching into her attacks. I'll admit, my first few attempts are exercises in frustration, but once you keep calm, monitor her animation linking to her attacks, its just matching what she's about to launch at you with what you can do to either avoid or evade. Once you do that, you see, even a naked man with a jar on his head can easily beat her. Those who got in "like a tank" gets over-encumbered in movement with their Game of Thrones armors take damages, sooner or later she will overwhelm your slow heavily armored tank-like character build, with her physical and scarlet rot damages. Agility build is the key here.

Either way, I dont let others do for me or take my accomplishments away from me. No point claim you "killed Malenia" and got the Malenia achievement under your account name but you let someone else solo her. Might as well just let that person do the entire game for you.

"Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime"

Gamers these days have no patience, no resilience to soldier through. Everything have to be hand held. Like babies.

Finally 1000/1000 or platted Elden Ring after 100+ hours in it

beaten all minor/major/hidden/optional bosses, watched all endings, completed all NPC quests

Was planning for a victory lap of NG+... but felt burned out after playing it non-stop for months... end up deleting the game and moving on to other games

too many games, too little time tongue.gif

Gone back to my GP and PC backlogs, I left Elden without completing the fire Giant kill on NG++++ or Journey 4, just to keep questlines open. I occasionally jump back into Elden when the Discord I'm in, erupts with new discovery, which has slowed down considerably right now. More PvP shenanigans that I'm not interested in, much.

I should also clear Demon Souls Remake, Gran Turismo 7, FFVII Remake Intergrade and the next-gen upgrade of Uncharted Legacy of Thieves, but I grew bored with them. Maybe one day when ....... I dunno. When I have nothing else left to play.

More interested in tinkering with the Z13, pushing it to the max and seeing what it's capable of paired with Thunderbolt 3080Ti eGPU. 4K120 at home, 1080p120 on the go.

This always happens to me. Shiny new things overshadowing old ........"crap"(?). Too harsh?

This game is not going to leave me alone now is it? I'm trying to leave and it keeps pulling me back in!

Patch 1.04 is now live with following additions and fixes:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Most interesting to me is they finally "patch in" (pun intended) Patches' proper NPC events for his questline. SoulsBorne players will be familiar with this NPC who has appeared in ALL SoulsBorne games. Question is, am I too late to continue from where I am in NG++++/Journey 4 now, or do I have to start NG+++++/Journey 5?

At least they fix this dog's damage scaling.

When a game is as HUGE as Elden, it's fix log matches the same scope. laugh.gif

Unless some unsuspecting unannounced, huge game comes out between now and the end of year, Elden is already GOTY2022 to me.
