Anyone know how much the stylus is going to cost?

If you read a few pages behind, you can see there is no big deal with viewty.
I've also seen a lot of N95 second hand units for sell, but that doesn't mean it has issue with the model, does it?

Viewty take crappy pictures, to be honest and that is when it's in stock mode with default settings. The default quality was 80 (normal) and there was option for highest 95 (Maximum) in Zoran. You can see quite a big margin in quality after the setting.

Not quite sure about others but this is what I've experienced. Don't tweak if you're not risk taker

You can use 4GB of memory card but provided you must preload the 4GB memory with 2.1GB worth of stuff so that the phone can detect your memory card.

For example, inserting a 4GB free of MicroSD into the phone will make it undetectable. In order to do that, insert 2.1GB of movies or stuff into the phone so that the phone can detect it.

Never format the SD card from the phone!!!

The viewty supports readibility of up to 2gb only. Anything beyonds that will make the memory card undetectable.

Click on contact and choose edit. Then scroll down until you the ringtone icon

I think the only indicator is the only 4 bars at the top of the screen. Hopefully the next software release will include update for the battery status

Well if you're into the camera of the phone, don't expect it to match those from N82. Apart from that, I can't seem to find ways to delete mistakenly entered words in the T9 dictionary. So add words with caution.

Other than that, the battery lifespan is short. Have to recharge every 2 days. (Moderate usage)

Have you seen N82 photos? They have sharper and greater color rendering for their photos.
Well Viewty has good lens, except they have bad software to process the photo. For a 5 megapixel picture to be compressed to file around 800kb, I'll say the compression rate is too high and this leads to degradation of photo quality. Plus, the image stabiliser for this phone is crap!

Well anyway, it's worth the money spend on it. No complain on the music though, although it has no match for an ipod. Overall, if you are looking or considering this phone, I'll say go for it.

You can zoom up to a certain extent on x4.
I myself think that pictures zoomed with x8 and x16 are quite blurry and bad though.

Guys, where can I buy another set of the handsfree? I want to buy another set for car use. My original handsfree were used for conference in my own home and office.

I am using Singapore set.

The problems you might faced when using Singaporean set is that you might not be able to send something for repair to Malaysia LG (even if you are still under warranty). You will need to send it back to Singapore to do the servicing and repair.

I bought my Viewty in June and has been using it till now. Everything is superb, no sudden restart, no problems at all. About your message tone, yes it only plays for 5 seconds before it cut the mp3 out. Anyway if you adjust the volume you would notice incoming message.

Just go for Zitron set if you want to avoid the inconveniences. There is no difference between version a or b or c. It's just a difference in the operator settings.

I am using firmware version 10b. Apparently people from the Europe told me that there is not much difference between version a or b or c. It's just a difference in operator settings. However, I have people from Singapore telling me different otherwise instead. So I guess if you made a visit to Singapore, why don't try flashing the firmware, no harm done right?

I don't faced the same problem as stated by you. Why don't you use mass storage settings? The software bundled is craps. Most of the time I am using mass storage settings under USB connectivity. It's faster and easier, like plugging in thumbdrive. If you are still facing the problem, try hard reset. Before that, you should back up all contacts and calendars or whatever there is to backup. You will need to reassign groups once after the reset. You can do it through accessing the secret hidden menu.



Unfortunately no in this case. Hopefully the next software release will fix the common problems found in Viewty, although very unlikely LG is going to release new software.



There have been some problems with the few batches of production on Viewty, as referred to few pages back in this thread. You can get it done through replacement of the phone's board for free of charge, and that's if your phone is under warranty. It has completely nothing to do with the firmware.

Well I'll say it's valuable for the price tag. You get pretty good features from the phone. Since Viewty is my straight jump from my old school Nokia phone, I am sorry that I cannot provide comparisons between Nokia and SE phones to Viewty. However, I can tell you that I will prefer Viewty anytime to any Nokia and SE phones that I have come across, including N95. This is my self preference.


1. For problem 1, as mentioned, you can get it fixed through replacement of the PCB board. If you bought Viewty that was recently produced, there shouldn't be a problem with Viewty.
2. Unfortunately, that is the case. 5 seconds cut off. Please beware that there is no fix for this at the moment.
3. Screen respond? It's fantastic. I have nothing to complain against the touchscreen of the phone. It's just at the right spot.
4. Yep, unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this. Hopefully the next software release can fix things up a bit here.
5. Yes, it takes a long time to load the photo. For me, I just capture and view all these in computers later.
6. Haha, this is a very subjective matter. For people who have the skills, you can get very good pictures. For people like me, can't say anything la. If you want to view some samples, reply me. I will quote you some of the superb shots from this Viewty.
7. Camera protector? The KU990 comes with a plastic to cover the lens. It's a built in stock len. The ku990R comes with lens cover. However, the KU990R does not fix the already common problem on Viewty.
