QUOTE(KMG @ Dec 8 2019, 06:35 PM) Thank you everyone. It’s my first car purchase and I wasn’t very sure if I should get a brand new one or a secondhand. But I’m definitely not getting the swift since most of you think it’ll be better to get the myvi instead. Since it's your first car then just get the Myvi coz easier to maintain. Not to say the Swift 1.5 is difficult to maintain or tough to get parts but still won't be as easy as myvi. Plus you don't seem to care or know much about handling so no point getting the Swift 1.5 coz that is the main advantage of that car over the myvi.

QUOTE(xemoboyx @ Dec 9 2019, 08:52 PM) Agree, Just get Myvi TS, since you don't care much about the handling of the Swift which is the main point of this car. Myvi is cheaper and parts are widely available. the brake caliper pins is a scam lol, don't buy it, just re-grease the pins every 6 months. i also did the same mistake with my brake fluid, didn't service the brake fluid since i got the car and at 100+k km, it failed on me. Makes sense to change it more often also, since brake fluid is hygroscopic. My routine for my myvi now is. change brake fluid every 2 years, grease brake caliper every 6 months, change engine oil every 10k km/6 month and transmission oil & filter every 20k km/2 years. Oh yea, service & re oil ac compressor every year, since cooling coil is a tedious job which requires dashboard removal. Still on my original AC system after 10 years. I changed my caliper pins. Too troublesome and lazy to regrease every 6 months. The cost of getting that done as often will be more than just buying the new set of pins with teflon sleeves, unless you like to DIY.

QUOTE(xemoboyx @ Dec 9 2019, 10:06 PM) if you want to see my excel sheet of my myvi repair, u can pm me. I spend about almost 3k in repairing what you've mention. except for the AC system. Hope i don't jinx myself and have to repair that in the near future. I'm too cheap ass to change rims for my myvi, plus i just change 1 set of XM2 for this car earlier this year ... that's why i still stick to the original braking system. If not mistaken if upgrade to Honda brakes, you need to get 15inch rims to fit it. what caliper pins did you change to? i changed mine to an oversize one recommended by the spare part shop, 6 month down the road, the noise still came back. I didn't diy my car also, just bring to my regular mechanic for servicing and he help me grease the pins when i change my engine oil. Labour about rm30+grease pins. I changed to same size one but with teflon sleeves, already almost a year and still silent. Cannot remember the brand though.
