Hi guys. My family has a house. The house is still under bank loan and under 2 names. My brother and my late father. My father has passed away, and now my mother become pentadbir harta of my late father's half portion of the house. Now we want to sell the house. Estimately, how much is the lawyer fee for us (my brother+mom) and what are the process involved? TIA

If so you can claim half. my late father only took the MRTA for my brother, not himself. i wonder why my father did not take MRTA for himself. is it because he was a government servant and he was already covered by MRTA which is compulsory for all gov servant? what do u think? btw, about this MRTA, can i check with the loan provider whether my father was covered by the government's MRTA or not? Firstly is to engage lawyer to sell the house, your brother and your mother( your father's estate executor) will be signing snp to sell the house. the buyer's bank will make first disbursement into your loaning bank first, after clearance the balance will pay to u directly. since your mum is executor for your father's estate so there will be no problem on selling the property and transfer the ownership, your mum and brother will sign off the property transaction document and everything will go smoothly. Most important is engage a professional lawyer in handling alimony with conveyancing to ease your work.
