Bike depreciation depends on a few things.

Sometimes the new model completely obsoletes the old one. Summore got CKD. Then the old one immediately depreciate like hell.

Case in point, the Z800. The second Z900 came out in CKD, second hand z800 prices dropped like a stone. Now it's super cheap.

In the case of Ducati, just before the timing belt change... value drops like hell. LOL. So if you find a cheap-ish Ducati, this is the first thing to ask.

If depreciation bothers you, buy a 3-5 year old big bike from a weekend hero biker who racks up very little mileage. By the time you sell it on years later, you will have lost very little.

Tip: Many guys buy big bikes on impulse, then 2 years later cannot pay hutang and are forced to sell. Nice bargains to be had here. But beware... some of these idiots lari hutang and sell the bike secara haramjadah (JT), some try sell the bike secara 'sambung bayar'. Steer clear, unless you also the haramjadah type willing to gamble.

Yes. I can confirm that mileage can be adjusted.

I previously went to view a used 2012 ER6 from a private dealer. After arrived at his place on the agreed time, the bike still haven't arrived yet.
I found out that it's a Terengganu bike, he bought it from a private seller there and tow the bike all the way to KL.

He called the towing-guy. The dude said will arrive in 10 minutes, got some delay because of the jam.

So I just waited there, and I am the first person to view the bike. Checked everything, the mileage of this bike was around 60K km.

The next day, I checked on Mudah. I saw that exact bike.
Same black color, same number plate.

The mileage on the picture was shown at 16km. Jeez.
Then I knew that the mileage is not original.

Never went back to the private dealer anymore.

Holy crap. Last week I went to see an 8-month old z900. Mileage 3400km but the tyres were knackered...

Which dealer was this?

so its actually see the condition rather than the amount of owners la? what about the fact that he selling for more than he bought? is that right actually or should he sell at same price or slightly lower only?

Up to you on what is acceptable coz it's your money.

If someone wants to sell a bike that has had 15 owners at a high price, you might hv your own reasons that justify buying it i.e. it's a rare iconic bike such as the NR750 or the FP1.

In general though, I'd apply some common sense... but that's just me.

How about the last owner repaired and puts nice jajan already?

Jajan is tricky. Only consider its worth in the price if its useful to u.

The caveat is that some jajan might actually be detrimental to you instead of adding value. For example bullshit loud exhaust - how much bribe do you need to pay when you take it to PUSPAKOM to transfer ownership? How much bribe are u prepared to pay when you get stopped by the cops?
