Can't agree more on this.
If you want most peace of mind by owning an F30. Get a 320d.
That's it.

Anyone can buy a BMW. You need to ask yourself if you can afford it or not. If you have concerns as per your original post, best stick to Japanese cars.

Dear owners of BMW F30 320i,

I was thinking of getting one.
Want to ask/consult on:-
1. Performance? Under power?
2. Reliable? Any issues?
3. It has a start stop function, problematic?
4. Maintenance high or not?
5. What to look out for when getting a used one?

Thank you

Simple answer is if you can afford the expensive repairs and maintenance costs go for it.....if not do yourself a favour and opt for a Toyota or Honda. European luxury cars are notorious money pits.

advice you to get those under 10k ... 20 year old BMW e46
if you still can buy it, means the owner took good care of the car..

Dear all,

Thanks for all the good advises and pointers.
It shows you guys knows the car. A true petrol-head.
Forever appreciated.
It’s not that I do not now that cost but wanted to know the reliability of this particular car. Some of the bro’s here truly highlighted very factual reason e.g. N20 got issue on the timing belt. Steering rack issue etc.
These are good informations for potential owners to put into considerations.
Really appreciated, again I would let to say.

I guess I have to look for 2015 model and not before 2015 model.
