QUOTE(Szzz @ Nov 25 2019, 11:46 PM) If its not a good sub, there will be no new customers for the manufacturer. Till now 4 countries are using scorpene. What makes it good is..... the hydrodynamic shape of the hull which among the most silent sub ever built. It can carry many weapons compared to other conventional subs. But dont compare with SSN.....its in other class. They have forever powerplant & speed This post has been edited by LTZ: Nov 25 2019, 11:54 PM |

QUOTE(Zaryl @ Nov 25 2019, 11:45 PM) So my question: why there is no more DECK GUN installed on modern submarines? You gotta have it for personal defence or to take a pot shot at small ships right? MkXI escape suit... but only for depth less than 180m, but still risky because rapid ascend can explode ur lung. This post has been edited by LTZ: Nov 26 2019, 08:35 AM |

QUOTE(KLthinker91 @ Nov 26 2019, 12:13 AM) Modern torpedoes are much more accurate and efficient, and the deck gun consumes space as well as (I ASSUME) greatly increases detectability, due to its irregular shape torWasn't a problem against WW2 sonar but now no Germans sold a lot of SSKs too though. QUOTE(Eoma @ Nov 26 2019, 12:14 AM) have you guys seen any real (real) big fishes while in the ocean ? Ppl mistaken military sub has windows or camera to see outside..... which is not. Window does not give u range advantage at all.... how far can u see under the sea?? We dont speak in meters for detection range, we talk about kilometers, which only soundwave can provide.possible to collect marine/sea life data while on missions ? Using passive sonar,we could detect the present of biologics around us. Yes, we could collect the data if we are required to do so This post has been edited by LTZ: Nov 26 2019, 08:49 AM |

QUOTE(LTZ @ Nov 25 2019, 10:24 PM) I am here not to be praised...... I am here to share my knowledge & experience being as a submariner.... as I know, just less hundreds of us only in Malaysia. U can ask me...And I could answer as long as u are serious Not trolling. When TLDM brought back the submarine from France to Malaysia, does TLDM need to submit any "flight plans" (like how airlines do) to some governing body or nations? |

Or can the subs somehow "hear" each other in the water? |
