939 stock HSF uses 70mm fans, which are pretty hard to find. You could use a fan adaptor to fit a larger, quieter fan but for the money you spend might as well get a 3rd party HSF.

QUOTE get artic cooling freezer 64 from moderno, currently im using it and all i can say is, its damn silent even at full throttle.. just wanna share, i bought an artic cooling freezer series from moderno too, but it's lga775 version for my old pentium processor. Doesn't work very well with prescott 3ghz+ series..The damn noise is still there.. but I suppose freezer 64 will work well with amd..since amd is more silent even with stock hsf..This post has been edited by aad_lfcfn: Jul 16 2007, 11:14 PM |

Prescott is a very hot hot hot processor that requried a very nice cooler to cool it off ...
I think Freezer series should works well .. I'm using it also ... Not a bad performer given the price is lower than most other third party cooler .... yet it's silent also ... |

can try opt for TT Bigtyphoon VX...pretty silent cooling from me
fans spinning at 1200rpm ++ yet the cooling could be considered good! |

get some decent heat sink come with heat pipe ....for best performance VS noise .find those can fit in 12cm fan ...get a 12cm fan that comes with fan controller.monitoring CPU temp with coretemp,speedfan...etc ...
try to maintain temp below 65C while turning down your fan speed to reduce noise. remember to apply better TIM with correct way. mine 3000+@2.65ghz (IHS removed) + XP90C CM12cm fan@980rpm ...very silent still maintain idle = 34c load=50c without aircond |
