I tot Ipod shuffle works like a thumb drive. I have to admit that I too hate Ipod Nano file handling system despite its superior SQ.

sony, samsung, creative using their own software for the mp3 conversion.. most likely china brand mp4 and mp3 allow u to copy and paste without using any conversion software..for an example apacher, meizu and some unbranded model..the quality of sound of coz cant be compared to any of branded model as mentioned above, but hey,as long as u have a good earphone, DEFINITELY it's ENUF for normal ear..unless ELEPHANT or GIRRAFE ear..check my siggie tongue.gif if u interested to buy any tongue.gif

all those brands mentioned by the folks here can support what you ask.
you just drag and drop your folders into the hdd, no need to use software to manage.

creative files no need to convert actually. you can drag and drop music and video files like divx and it plays .

If you're buying china-branded, don't buy ERGOTECH. Not trying to drop it's fame but you really shouldn't. My uncle bought it as a gift for me and at first I'm quite 'impressed' by it's function & price. (RM1xx for 1gb+) and the box says battery life = 6hours. SCREW IT! Not even can pass 30minutes. As for battery charging, once you charge around 30 minutes will auto stop... no camera to take picture of the product, paiseh sweat.gif
