it is good to keep your 6 months emergency fund in ASNB.
I think if you have spare better go for equity and stocks at this period

QUOTE(chichabom @ Aug 6 2020, 11:00 PM) Wondering if announce 3.5%, will you guys pull out from ASNB then? For those risk averse its still twice the rate of fd. pull out and put to where? stock? bond?the purpose of going into ASNB is to diversify portfolio and get stable return higher than FD.. 3.5% is still higher than FD. those who want to take risk I believe they already withdraw from ASNB and go into stock market makan nasi lemak lobster already |

QUOTE(familyfirst @ Aug 6 2020, 09:01 AM) Im expecting nothing less than 4%. Anything that starts with a 3 would be very depressing/reduce public confidence and I dont think they want that. get depressed but how they can do?take out and put into FD? from the people I know who are FD supporter they still stay with FD at this moment. most ASX supporter will still stay as there is no other alternative that can be higher than FD with almost zero risk. somemore fixed price ASX are first come first serve once you sold you may not be able to get back next time. |

QUOTE(MattSally @ Aug 21 2020, 12:05 AM) Any more educated guesses for ASM2 and ASM3 dividends in September and October please? We have a little (very little) amount of money to invest and are unsure if we should try to get ASM2 ASM3 funds or try something completely different. from the 2019 annual report, ASM2 mostly allocate the equity in financial (26%) and utility (11%) sector, and these 2 sector are not doing good or not yet recover from COVID 19 pandemic..Really enjoying this thread. I have been following for quite a while as a guest before signing up. they don't involve in those higher flyers like gloves counters and not much in tech. so my estimation for ASM2 will be around 4% or even 3.8% |

next week there should have many more people compared to last year to try grab the ASM2,3 quota after dividend out... especially those plan to move from FD to other more secured and higher rate investment tool..
high chance there is no available fund to top up large amount on ASM & 3 |

QUOTE(TOS @ Aug 28 2020, 05:35 PM) Please bear in mind by doing so you are shouldering more risk. Just kidding man haha ... although 4% but I am going to grab some next week...Changing your risk profile just because hard to snatch up units is not a wise move. Consider blue chip counters in other markets, just a bit more risky since there are currency fluctuations and market risk there, but otherwise you can earn decent risk-adjusted return. as OPR is expected to be cut again this year, more and more FD supporter will go into bond or ASM.. I don't think it will be easy to fish this week, although some people here said that just 4% only people will run away from ASM

QUOTE(TheEquatorian @ Sep 29 2020, 06:29 AM) Should be around 4%.. for me it is not much different for 3.75,4,4.25.. do we have other better option to park our money in somewhere “zero risk “ Even they give 3%, most ASM supporter will still follow as long as it is higher than FD cactus112 liked this post
