Unker oso Inggeris no good to explain...the emotion vs cognition in financial decision, a dubious dichotomy.
Hence, easier for Unker to share a picture.

Not in a foreseeable future for a new world reserve currency (as dominant as the USD) to emerge. When the time comes, the transition will take some time and you will still have time to react.
*
I see. Mind sharing when you expect a new reserve currency to surface?

Foreseeable future = ?

How is the cold weather in Melbourne? Drinking cans of beer will keep you warm.

What I was saying is, I will withdraw from my ASMx and EPF one day when I feel it is time. By then, no more financial commitments with kids all grown up, no loans, etc. Only for wife and self to enjoy. Planning to go on a 6 months round the world ocean cruise then. Crazy plan as I threw up once on the PKlang to Phuket cruise!

Enjoy your Aust trip. Go and watch a live Aussie footy match.

sure EPF is better but sudah max 100k x 2

FD is  lower than 4% now
ASm 4.75% sure better
Between FD 4.7% and ASM 4.7%
which one would you take?
anyone also can, same rate right?

For me i take FD first.
1 bird in hand is worth 2 in the bushes

Hi guy3288,

Trust that you are doing fine.

On EPF top-up, all are 100k limited or those above a certain age can top up more? I thought I read something about that before.

Cheerio.

Pengisytiharan Amanah @ PA

Wills service by ASNB

Need to pay
Not mandatory to subscribe but it's recommended for easy distribution upon death of unit holders to living beneficiary 🙏

I like to share mine.

My ASNB manager gave me some brochures to read and later I went to sign up, initially thinking it was a good deal, though with an RM10 yearly fee and an initial sign up RM100 fee.

Shocked to learn from my friend later that there is a fee for the transfer when the PA is executed. Not a small amount, a few K! I did not see that fee table. If I did, I would have dropped this like a hot brick. Now too late, already signed up. Unless I cancel it. I think there is a cancellation fee! I was told by ASNB staff no need to worry about the transfer fees. The yearly dividend is more than enough to cover. But why waste a few RM k?

Shocked and annoyed that I had to sign many pages of the contract (some 8 pages, I think) which I had not read before. Yes, I should read it before signing. But ...

I strongly feel that this PA thing is not up to standard, with customers not knowing the full package. Only showing the nice benefits.

Appreciate feedback from those who have signed up for this PA. Your views?

Thanks.

yes the fees are based on ,tier ,but you must not forget 1k unit freeze+ some interest deducted should cover the fees .But good point its easier to claim .Please read the brochure again. Why choose to pain oyurself to go again ot court or probate etc ,just to claim the money? and claiming period is super long like 2 years
*
Years back I asked at the counter and I was told it could be settled within weeks with the xyz letter from the local council.

Not in a hurry to get the money as there are other funds. Just see it as a total waste of x K fee. Ya, can use the annual dividends. But why waste that dividend?

Bro memang  have to pay fees
Registration fee, additional registration fee annual maintenance fees, change of beneficiary fee,
even revocation fee............ all chicken feed lah. small amount.

The big  FEE is Admin claim fee

ASNB trick is to offer discount or waiver for registration fees, usual RM180.

My ASNB RM just offered me FOC registration. no use.

The big amount is when  owner pass away and beneficiary wants to claim

Rm1,000,000 kena fees RM5000+

that is why i dont want to register even offered FOC
*
Thanks.

If I knew about the high claim fee, I would have dropped that like a hot brick.

yeah this is a big concern.

However, what if you already have a will written? Can we use that will instead of doing additional PA?
*
Dont think one can have it in a will AND also PA. It is this or that, not both. I guess they will use the registration date to decide.

i signed up for it. reason being, in the event of a crisis, like me passing away suddenly, i want my next of kin to get it without hassle. if things go smoothly, i would be withdrawing it totally in the future anyway as this funds i'm saving now is for a specific future use. so i'm not worried about whatever fees. it would only come into play in the event of an emergency.
*
Good planning.

Since I realised the mistake I made, I am now reducing my ASM to other places. And transfer parts to my family members now. Intended for them, so why not transfer now.

Minimum 4.75% (be on par with ASM1) to 5% max (which I think very slim chance but not impossible)

Because all these funds need to build up reserve that being used previously to pay out dividends....

ASM3 dividend rate will be out soon. I was expecting ASM3 to be about the same as ASM2.

But with a better economy over the past 3 months, I expect and hope the number to be 5%!

Possible, probable, plausible, preferred?

I'm more interested in the total units & fund size...

Because many have switched to ASM1 previously...

*** Interesting. I may be wrong in thinking that one EPF dividend was better due to a few billions withdrawn during covid hard time. The lower yielding money was used to pay for these withdrawals. And thus overall, the remaining and high yielding money resulted in a higher %, not diluted by the lower yielding withdrawn capital base.

Dividend should be same...

5% next year highly possible
