Hi there.. i would like to check if any of you conduct or happened to know any manga or comics drawing teaching class in KL? school holidays are coming and my 9 years old daughter have great interest in learning the comics/manga drawing..

i just wish she could be guide by correct and talent people to a correct way..

i would says as early as you can? as long as the particular shows interest in arts/manga drawing.

While I don't know of any classes, I remember when I was young I would get those 'how to draw manga' books from book stores and also read those short manga tutorials found in comic magazine (in Gempak).

Personally I would say just let your kid draw anything she likes and may provide her with reference materials that she likes. Most importantly I feel is keep growing her interest if this is what truly interests her.

She can draw whatever she likes, but if she is to go far, she must have fundamentals pummeled early into her brain.

Things like figure drawing and color theory. Doing repetitive studies on mundane everyday objects.

Once she got that down, she can branch out to whatever styles she wants and her artwork will still look really good, while the art community at large will take her seriously.

Dont make the same mistake I made by learning only manga animu stuff.
