Everyone....well maybe not everyone, knows that DIY linear PSUs are far better in terms of quality than anything the market can shove at us. You've got far less ripple, 10 times better regulation, higher load stability, no switching noise, better protection (courtesy of MOVs at the input) and better linearity. The only thing you lose out on is very simply efficiency, which can be pretty much solved with a switching toplogy instead. Most expensive PSU manufacturers are content to use cheapo parts and lousy PCB design to cut costs, DIYers, since we're building the damn thing for ourselves are far better in the quality department.
how much izzit the average cost of manufacturing a PSU .. say for enermax liberty??i've opened my liberty.. and seriously i don't think the 500w PSU which costs over 400bux retail have components inside which are worth more than RM100
