Not actually impulsive la.. I have actually decided to buy 2nd hand z1000sx in early 2020 before lockdown.. Luckily haven't bought yet then went into lockdown d and I'm severely affected.. But then last year got new part time job and then early this year full time salary restored to pre-covid time.. Furthermore the offer is too good now.. The price was 55k last time when I'm surveying price, but now only selling 41k..
Btw, still sticking to my previous budget which is around 40k+- so can't go for new litre bike.. There also got a z1000sx year '11, but no matter how durable a bike is, sure there will be wear and tear here and there already.. Don't want extra burden on maintenance, so end up choosing 750 new bike la.. Hopefully loan can approve la later, will submit it next week.. Just worry a little coz salary was halves last 2 years, so there are chance that it will be rejected..

I missed riding the 2 stroke bike. Oil change? once a year regardless. 2t? was like rm5 for the shell 2t that smell nice one. the engine jammed? let it cool for 5-10 minutes then u'll be off again. the only thing i hate about the 2 stroke are the carbon build ups. my standard exhaust was so clogged that i need a wire to poke in the exhaust. then my friend lent me his BM Power chamber which got me in trouble for a couple of times with the authority lol...

Yeah the carbon build up was because of using the cheap 2t ones. I was in form 4-5 when i got myself a moped. That was my 1st owned bike and u know as a secondary school boy, money is on the tight side so usually if i cant afford the shell 2t wangi ones.. i’ll go for the cheapest ones. Then theres the old age bike too. So carbon/sludge build up is not too weird.

I missed riding mopeds lol. Sometimes the most simple ones is the most fun ones i say.

right now im using diablo rosso 3 so the tyre is decent enough. thou i feel its a little slippery when the roads are wet. I mean im not really particular about tyres but if u want my limited recommendations, i'd say the best tyre ive use is diablo supercorsa v2 (that thing grips on hot weather) but fade really fast.

Shinko was ok for thousand KM but started to feel slippery after that.

For budget tyres i really prefer conti sportattack. affordable and quite good in hot and wet.

Beside i only got my gixxer for like a year++ and nowdays (with rain and all) i kindda seldom use it. However... i ride to work today and as usual.... its raining cats and dogs here...

im using the road5 now...yes its very good in the rain and pretty good in the dry too. but i still prefer the metzeler roadtec01. i have more confidence in the roadtec and have never had any unintentional slips whereas ive had a couple with the road5. for some reason the road5 just doesnt feel confidence inspiring.

also the road5 is much lazier to lean into corners while the roadtecs leans with minimal effort.

once the road5 is gone, ill be going back to roadtec or if curious enough will probably try out whatever version of the Bridgestone T3x series is out at the time. unlikely ill be going back to road5...may not even consider the road6.

Stiffer? Im assuming the roadtec coz HWM. Honestly never noticed difference in stiffness.

Anyway...roadtec01 has new version which is roadtec01 SE. Same thread, compound etc except the thread at the edges has been shortened to give more grip.during dry cornering. Have not seen anyone using it though n dunno abt availability here

odd... i ran til about 16k n i still had abit more before reching twi...another friend (big guy) on a versys 1000 also reached about 16k before changing.

Used twice also can reach 16k.. Unfortunately this time size 160 ran out of stock everywhere.. The time I wanna buy even PR5, T31, T32, all no stock for 160.. Ended up need to settle with the older Z8..

While riding, bring your shoulders up ... High enough to cover the lower opening of your helmet.
If the noise gets muffled .  There's the problem.  Cheek and side paddings too thin?

it is normal for the cheek bones to start hurting after riding for 90 mins or so with a helmet?? i dont feel the helmet pressing on my cheeks hard when i put on the the helmet.

I've tried putting on this type of eat plugs while riding.
But I find the pressure build up in my ears is uncomfortable and too quiet.  I still prefer to still able to hear traffic noise.

Few months ago I almost got rammed from behind by a car when I was slowing to stop at the traffic lights, the lights just turned red.    If not of the car's tyre screeching , I wouldn't had accelerate more to the front to avoid him ramming into my rear tyres.

Use the same foam type.. Just a simple comparison really -> put earplugs in -> ride with Helmet A -> stop change to helmet B -> note the difference..

That's basically it. In any case I ride with an earplug almost exclusively, so when a helmet is noisier, its noticeable.
