Uh...I think we're talking about different things here. I was referring to carrying items that has to be within the confines of the car...meaning however you put an item in the car, it MUST be INSIDE the car, with no parts of the item HANGING out of the car. Example, ladder.

Whilst your example shows that the TV can fit, it'll probably be an issue since it obstructs the driver's view. But hey, if it works why not eh?

PS: It's not about being creative...it's about being safe smile.gif

To each his/her own though. I wouldn't recommend transporting a TV like that. A lot of unnecessary risks.

UPDATE:

The tv fits in the back of the myvi, with the seats folded down. All my misgivings of keeping the car is now gone laugh.gif

Note that it cannot fit standing up on the back seat floor. It needs to lay down flat. However, to do this, you need to push the front seats forward. This'll be a problem if you're tall.

Work around that is to angle the TV so it rests on the front seat's headreset. I wouldn't recommend this for longer distances however.

tl;dr

Myvi is able to fit the 55" with some caveats. Attempt at own discretion.

I'm leaving this post up for others hunting for similar situations. If there's no need, let me know and I'll close it to avoid any kopitiam-styled posts.

Isn't Kopitiam the designated place for posts like this sweat.gif

------

On a more serious note, on paper, the myvi won't be able to fit it would seem. Shy of 50mm or so.

I'm leaving this up in case someone else wants to contribute with meaningful feedback.

Gonna do some more research to see if it can fit in the pug.

Realistically though, would you put your TV external to your car? You're comparing putting a bicycle on a rack, designed for that very purpose, to putting a TV. On a rack, ON TOP of your car. Really dude? sweat.gif

If you say drive a pick up and put it on the flatbed...that's still somewhat logical.

But on the roof of a Myvi? Maybe we live in different worlds sweat.gif

I opened this thread, to get community feedback on something that relates to this subforum, and is plaguing me. I'm leaving it open, for the benefit of others that might be in the same dilemma I was once in. I thought that was the spirit of this whole Forum?

If you're going to insist that putting it on the roof is a viable idea, I don't know what to say man. Maybe this sub-forum isn't for you?

Meh. To each their own. Different strokes for different folks. You do you. laugh.gif

EDIT:

I'm closing this thread to avoid further clutter. To those that needs to know more details, just drop me a PM. I don't need to post spam to increase my post count so no problem in helping out a fellow user privately laugh.gif
