Hi Pals

I just got myself on hand of the mytv decoder and tried to setup but failed

I connected it to the previous antenna used for analogue viewing and the only difference is directly to the antenna without booster (I ditched it after analogue was switched off)

First few auto search resulted with no channel being detected and only today there was once a few channels was shown detected

But again, when came to viewing it shows no signal

Most probably because of weak signal? And what can I do to improve this? If adjusting the antenna then GG because it is on the rooftop bangwall.gif

First of all, what's your area (city and state)? Take photo of your outdoor antenna and show it here.

It's good that you remove the booster, but did you remove the masthead amplifier too? Masthead amplifier also known as the outdoor unit of the booster:

Yes, I'm referring to that "Outdoor booster". Is it still there? You might wanna go out and check  sweat.gif
If it's still there, then it must be removed too.
And then, the cable must be connected directly to the antenna's input and does not passes through the outdoor unit of the booster.

Thanks for your reply

Mine looks exactly like the one in the photo, VHF and UHF with the masthead / outdoor booster

My area is receiving broadcast from Bt. Tampin station

Unfortunately, the antenna is too high (rooftop of double storey) for me to remove cable from masthead and connect directly to the antenna

Guess I will have to depend on unifi tv for local tvs

Yeah. Once it's the right is not directly held by Astro, it's hard for kerajaan to taichi get the rights for cheaper like before.

Nak sangat bola Astro tak pegang. Terus takde free 🤣

Well if RTM @ government willing to pay some $$$ for limited match / game...

They could do some agreement with SPOTV Asia for limited Rights broadcast 😁

IIRC last month there was a company promising to sponsor. But I think they didn't realise how expensive it is and pulled put.

But honestly for me, these live tournaments broadcast are considered public service, especially for rural people who can only reply on free TV and have slow internet.

Govt should have prepared years ago with the funds instead of waiting for someone to come in.

What About RTM?
Now, you may or may not have heard that communications minister Fahmi Fadzil is in talks with broadcasting department director general Datuk Suhaimi Sulaiman regarding the rights to broadcast UEFA EURO 2024 on RTM. However, there have been no further developments regarding this since his last statement on 30 April 2024.

Chances of this actually happening is close to unlikely, and the minister himself did point out that acquiring the licence to broadcast will be very costly. “We have to be careful in terms of cost because we know the cost is too high, so we have to see if it has been allocated,” he told reporters. “If it has been allocated we will take it but if it is outside of what has been allocated it will be an issue.”

I hope I'm wrong, but I believe no rebroadcast of the games.
Cut cost ma. Streaming Astro on commercial establishments have to apply licence and subscribe to business plan. I believe they have started taking action on those premises who stream without commercial subscription.

Which is good as it also helps me to cut my expenses

Watch at home and make own beverages cost less than RM1
