QUOTE(aphrael @ May 29 2008, 12:34 PM) It's ok with ps3 games but the voices are a bit soft like with movies. It lacks the mids that's why. But it's the only speakers I have and I don't really feel like investing in another set of speakers yet....too many games that needs buying Hey, wats ur PSN ID?

wow... cant find it locally? i guess i have to live with the current sound effect. A bit troublesome to get that cable. Anyway, tat Philips HTS can manipulate 2CH into surround 7.1 sound with Ambisound. so i think it is cool enuff for now.

i just realized that we need to use this item to output the digital audio to any sound system. http://cgi.ebay.com/OPTICAL-to-COAX-Coaxia...1QQcmdZViewItemAlso, we need to get 2 type of cables to connect both devices... With this, u can only achieve a true surround sound from your game.

coaxial and optical are both digital.... because most of our home theater system only has coaxial input, and ps3 has optical output. so we need this converter to get digital surround sound. After calculation, we probably need to invest around RM200 for cables and converter. Is it worth it?

cypher, it depends on ur requirement actually. Are u keen on getting a HD quality video? If yes, then opt for 40" and above to get the FUll HD effect. Otherwise, a 32" is sufficient for you.

it is true. I agree. The bigger ur screen, the more u can see. Especially in Full HD. No point buying Full HD below 40". U r just wasting money.

moogle, i think u need to set ur PS3 audio system... select Dolby 5.1 and DTS mode enable. Then i think u can hear the difference.
btw, I have a 46" Full HD LCD TV.... im damn impressed with the video output while watching AVI movie file downloaded from torrent and streaming from my PC wirelessly to PS3. It is like watching a DVD 9 movie. It truely enhance the picture quality.

QUOTE(lapaq @ Jun 18 2008, 08:02 AM) I'm not sure if the site indicate the latest spc but the h264 support is only at level 4.1 where as most of the scene releases and hd tv shows + anime released on the net uses h264 level 5.1... So to me all the movies still have to go thru a certain degree of conversation. Might as well change them mkvs to m2ts and then stream it to the PS3...can stills save time...and also 800 bucks...and one can still have all them subtitles... How to have subs in PS3? Do i need to convert?
