I agree that the market price is below NAV for some time now for those two ETF but i-vcap is going to end its operation by sep 2020. Seems like no market maker as well for these two etf.

Someone shared this before;

https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/valu...gement-business

Of course it is also stated that it is possible that the etf will be taken over by another fund management company

We're fully aware of this development.
That's why I'm really want to know what will happen in September 2020.
*
To be honest that is the least of the problem, please anyone who invest in these two etf, take a look at the volume transacted per day and also the liquidity.

Like I have said earlier, the ETF's run by i-VCAP have serious problems.

At one point last month they were trading at significant premium and those who bought last month paid that premium and now it is trading at a discount. I tested it myself

Volume isn't the issue because one can look at the TradePlus Shariah Gold Tracker run by Affin and it has only a one cent spread even with low volume

If the excuse is given that it is a foreign ETF then look at the MyETF MSCI Malaysia Islamic Dividend and even that has the same issue which shouldn't be the case since all the assets are in Malaysia after all

[attachmentid=10468938]

The NAV for the ETF on that day was around 1.01 but the provider was willing to sell at 0.935

If there is market maker that will be easily snapped up, although that 300 there might just be the market maker queing at buy and sell

So do we have any market maker now given the current local equity sentiment?
*
Maybe not for these two etf. We can infer about the fate of these two etf since they likely already have the info.

Take a look at the total amount of unit and its value. No wonder it is not justifiable for i-vcap to continue, fund too small.

What's the point of even using Wahed if they invest in the local market. Even their so called "US stocks" ETF is on the local market instead of the US and have almost non-existent trading volume. You might as well DIY and save money.
*
Exactly, no point . Although i would consider to buy that myetf directly in KLSE if it has more activity and i-vcap is not preparing to let go of the fund management business. It is listed in KLSE but that does not mean it is investing here, that us titan 50 is inveating in US equity just that it is listed here.

If someone decide to make etf that track s&p 500 in KLSE, i will definitely snap it up unless it is not active as in the current myetf

The thing is you can buy it directly because it's listed locally so you don't need a middleman at all. Other Robos are at least buying overseas ETFs which are much harder for small time investors to purchase, which is likely the target market. The problem with such a low volume ETF in the first place is that once you want to dump it, there aren't any buyers. Which means you have trouble getting your money.
*
Yeah, Thats what i said. Again the us titan 50 is investing in us equity, it not a derivative. It is just listed here.

the  advantage of robo advisors is that you can buy with minimum amount of funds, even with RM100.

Still, 1 lot of those myetf is cheap enough some of them even lower than MYR100 per lot, but transaction fee is going to eat up into that especially for small investor

It is pretty sad, loooking at the que and spread for th MM, if wahed want to liquidate your investment, they have to give a discount of almost 15% to the current NAV

HLAL, ok now i am interested. Heavy weightage on tech, pharma, health care and oil & gas. Performance so far mirror s&p 500 nicely and even exceed it but mainly due to the recent bull run on tech and pharma.

Sudden increase in volume for the past two days, i guess this is when it got transferred.

https://brockvalue.com/

If u trust this valuation, s&p intrinsic value is around 35XX.

Another aspect is if oil price keep on going up, of course it will benefit this etf, but the risk is on the exchange rate.

Myetf-mmid is currently listed at 6% discount to NAV. I undertstand that the US portion of the investment has been transferred from MYETF-US50 to HLAL, but what about the local portion of the investment, it is still with i-vcap and based on previous information, they are winding down by september.

Anyone has the latest news regarding i-vcap?

Does this still hold true now that HLAL is based in US? I mean they still have to process your deposit in their own records as deposited into Pacific Trustee in Malaysia, then convert and send to US trading broker, then only invest. Probably what you put in today, you are buying into Tuesday's US market close price, at the earliest. That's how it looks like at the nextdoor robo.

Previously, US stocks ETF in Wahed was DJT50 based in Malaysia, the speed was probably different.

You might be right, let see how long it takes for this transaction.

This Wahid seems to be slow this time, transfered twice on thursday and friday last week, none of them are invested ( or at least not updated as invested in the app). Previously it was pretty quick. As for SA, transfered on Sunday and it is already invested ,well at least that is what is shown in the app today

I left RM10K of my referral bonus... see how it grow..

10K okay la.. many of you all investment not even reach RM5K, so many only put RM100.. How can rich like dat wan ?

We invest to rich, no one invest to become poor..

If get small return, compare to inflation is actually loss.. Better don't invest, wasting time..
*
I seriously question your knowledge in "investing". But got to give you a pat on the back for being the opportunist that you are in getting the referral bonus.

The value invested itself is irrelevant, the point is to get a much better return in the long run compare to parking the money in saving account/fd/pnb funds.

If those guys only have those amount for investment, still they are better off since it has a potential to earn a much better return than letting it rot somewhere "safe".

There are definitely other way to make better return if you know how, but this targets people who doesnt have much experience in investing. I myself just get into this to gain exposure to US ETF. Bulk of my cash investment is still targeted to direct investment in the stock market and non cash (EPF) on unit trust.

Hahaha.. always with "Long term, Long Run"excuse..

Are you guarantee that you will profitable in long term? Why? Because DCA method crap and bla2 ?

Have you factored up the inflation rate?

What if, not adjusted with inflation also, you will lost in next 10 years. what you do ?

Talk is easy, long term long term.. it is excuses for losses that being made.. even small profit, adjusted with inflation also lost.
*
I wont argue with people who mistaken referral bonus as viable investment. Might be investment is not your strong suit after all i would say and please take a look at the historical data for s&p 500 that goes back to before great depression.

Promoting something just for the sake of referral bonus tells a lot about someone.

I'm a bit upset with wahed...i do recurring deposit on weekly basis and my deposit on 12/6 still pending till today...

Yes, wahid is a bit inconsistent in this. I hope they spend more time on timely update of value of invesment, faster and timely transaction, more details of transaction(like SA). Overall customer experience is important as well. Same like people investing in unit trust ,FSM portal vs eunittrust. A lot of people dont mind paying slightly more for a smoother, trouble free and better service.

IMHO, the money spent on referral bonus is better spent in upgrading the overall customer service or experience in investing through wahid. .

Well, that is expected as S&P 500 dropped around the same percentage wise.

I am transferring back to SA as i am still not satisfied with their answer about myetf-mmid and they have no plan to change to another etf in the near future.
