Switch to Very Aggressive.
The Malaysian exposure will reduce to 35% only (20% in Malaysia ETF; 12.5% in Bond and 2.5% in cash)
*
I checked on the very aggressive portfolio and noticed that there is no band competent and major portion on HLAL.

During this situation having bond may be more sustain in return but HLAL portfolio are having good stock like Apple and other tech stock and etc which bring HLAL up. The dilemma of choosing to switch or not since both side are positive.

My Malaysian portfolio has more earnings than US at the moment.
*
How do you see the portion of earning is from Malaysia or HLAL?

I only can see from the recent statement that they are focus more on Malaysia portion. My earning as of today is 10.24% based on the projected in my account, aggressive portfolio.

If top up more than probably return will be higher, is this correct?

So seems like Malaysia economy is better than US yet our money is outflow from the foreign investor. Sound not logic but do not know why.

Will I receive dividends? 1 month ago  Updated

The funds we invest in pay out dividends, however the frequency will depend on each fund's policies.
The dividends you receive will be automatically reinvested into your Wahed account

https://malaysiasupport.wahedinvest.com/hc/...eive-dividends-

Not sure when will the payout but I have checked the June and July monthly statement.
There's no change in units for HLAL.
*
So are they treating the dividend is their income?

Meaning we can only profit from price appreciation only?

Market Review: 9 - 13 November 2020

Most funds used by Wahed Invest were up last week, with HLAL +1.5%, MMID +18.7% and RHB IBF +0.2% while GOLD declined -2.7%. The S&P 500 closed at a record high following news of progress in the development of a COVID-19 vaccine. Global stocks surged after Pfizer and BioNTech announced that their vaccine had 90% effectiveness, triggering optimism that the health crisis will be addressed and the economic recovery can be accelerated. Locally, the KLCI was up 4.3% last week. Bank Negara Malaysia announced that the gross domestic product (GDP) for 3rd quarter 2020 declined by 2.7%, compared with a sharper slump of 17.1% in the 2nd quarter.

HLAL MMID RHB IBF GOLD
+1.5% +18.7% +0.2% -2.7%
Table 1: Week-on-week returns (9 Nov 2020 - 13 Nov 2020)

Market Outlook: 16 - 20 November 2020

The news of an effective vaccine should raise market expectation that the global economic recovery will be sustainable in 2021, although near-term uncertainties could still trigger volatility. The production and distribution of the vaccine will take months, and in the meantime the pandemic will continue to shape the direction of the economy. For the Malaysian market, local corporates will start to post 3rd quarter earnings that are expected to be better compared to the previous quarter following the easing of the movement control order.

Pressing Points: Be Disciplined In Periods Of Market Uncertainty

Year-to-date, all funds continue to perform well in terms of total return, with HLAL +17.0%, MMID +37.8%, RHB IBF +4.8% and GOLD +22.4%. The positive news on the COVID-19 front gives hope that the market and economic recovery could be sustained in 2021 and beyond. Long-term investors that invest according to their risk profile should not be distracted with short-term volatility, as they could miss out on sudden spikes in the market if they divest during a market downturn. As usual, being disciplined and exercising dollar cost averaging is our advice for long-term investors.

I think most of our portfolio is positive or in recovery stage.

I look back to my October statement, my RHB bond fund and gold are negative.

But you can always use the slower "wire transfer" method biggrin.gif

FPX only if you want to transfer instantly, but why need to? Wahed is not like crypto that requires fast deposit/ withdrawal to "capture the moment".

Will try the "wire transfer" method next round to see how long it takes.
*
How to choose wire transfer, I cannot see their is an option for this?

The underlying A shares are not convincing because regulatory risks

Better off buying through HKSE instead
*
May I know what is the regulatory risk we need to take note for the new China ETF to be include in Wahed?

We can buy this CHina ETF on Bursa too. I am considering buy it in Bursa instead of Wahed. Not sure anything we need to take note.

Hi guys,

So quiet here.

Just to know how many working days does it take for Wahed to place order once we have deposited money into their trustee account using wire transfer (no bank charge)?

What is the cut off time for fund deposit?

Just wonder is my situation a bit weird.

Portfolio: US only

22.09.2021
- Deposited RM300 @10:48am
- From app:
total fund: RM1,985.77; earning: RM144.71, as @21.09.21, 10:48am

23.09.2021
From app:
- total fund: RM2,264.09; earning: RM123.02, as @22.09.21, 5:45pm
- Received email confirm deposit received and will invest in 1-2 business days

1. Why there is a difference RM278.31 between the original amount and the total fund in my account?
2. Why there is a drop on my earning if the newly deposited fund has not invested yet?

Not weird, the RM 278.31 is RM 300-(144.71-123.02)
144.71-123.02 being the drop in your earnings due to market fluctuations.

Not invested doest mean its not there, it just means its part of your cash holdings in your portfolio or hasnt bought shares yet. Its still part of your total asset portfolio.

TLDR: Difference of 278.31 is due to deposit net drop in market value.
*
The portfolio amount is increased. But only increase RM278.31, where is the RM21.69 (is it exchange rate)?

Yesterday, HLAL is uptrend so why my earning will reduce?

Only Emerging Markets portfolio will get hit 1% because underlying USD and I suspect would be EEM

China-A most likely the same as the current ETF listed on Bursa as the diversified portfolios

Only local REIT and Money Markets which based in RM would be good if the fees are lower than 0.8% and have to see the underlying of it
*
How about HLAL (US portfolio only)? Why any deposit and withdrawal from this portfolio will incur 1% charge?

They are introduce more and more charge making me think that whether is it good to invest with Wahed for long term.

Most probably will move to Most Agressive portfolio to circumvent the extra surcharge. 65% exposure to HLAL with 12.5% exposure to China. I'm still okay with it. But the main robo I DCA into is still Stashaway. Any extra spare change only will put into Wahed. I still don't have enough seed money to DIY 😣
*
I have limited budget and want to limit the cost on foreign exchange so I choose Wahed but recently they have many charges coming out.

SA only have 1 charge (0.2%-0.8%) annual fee and 0.1% on foreign exchange regardless on how many different type of portfolio the investors have right?

Same 1% incurred because is it in USD as Wahed is not able to absorb the FX charge just like FPX charges before

If you rather buy HLAL you will better off buying VOO or IVV long term for cheaper expense ratio  doh.gif
SA fixed charges all the way with lower charges as your portfolio gets bigger
Don’t forget FPX of RM1 for those who like to DCA
*
I have stop DCA using FPX, now using the manual deposit.

So far, my HLAL is positive, I am happy with it but keep adding additional fee may increase the cost in long term. If jump to SA, not sure will achieve positive result in 6mths - 1 year period as I need to start from scratch.

SA also have General investing portfolio and thematic portfolio. All looks attractive making me not sure which to select.
