QUOTE(viqq @ Nov 1 2019, 09:12 AM) Mechanical keyboard costs more to make than normal membrane keyboards, it wasn't meant to be a budget option at first. But with more clone switches and adoption of the mechanical keyboards for the past 2-3 years, we're getting all kinds of options. I remember the time when only enthusiasts would go for mechanical keyboards because it costs so much money that we would rather spend the money on RAM or Graphics card upgrades. If we're talking about rm119 for a mechanical keyboard, expect the manufacturers will cheap out on the materials and features etc. as they spent the money on the switch. But salute Armageddon for offering such a cheap option for those that can't afford but are keen to try mechanical switches. Spending rm2-300 on a mechanical keyboard is ok, because they'll outlast 3x your rm100 keyboards anytime of the day. I always spend good money on my keyboards and mouse and monitor, as they are the things we use and see everyday. Cant agree more on spending a bit more for keyboard and mouse, been using a normal logitech keyboard, bought a tecware mech keyboard last 2 years, much better typing experience where the old logitech keyboard will affect my finger when using for too long especially when doing work in Acad and some typing assingments

I'm using a k380 and a DeathAdder 3.5G for work at the moment. Thinking to grab the G Pro or G903 in the upcoming 11.11 sale. Not the best setup but I can work for hours with this two. Logitech is having promo for its G512 Carbon. I think that's the best budget mechanical keyboard if you're willing to spend a bit more vs the Tecware Phantom.

I can suggest you to use something like ASUS P2000 USB for example with everything like that anyway. It may not be the cheapest of all but it's really somewhat greteast deal for budget like $15-$20 anyway. Highly recommended for that money for sure.

I'm in the midst deciding which keyboard to buy below rm150
Tecware not bad quality, got weight Aula & Ajazz keycap very special. Square crystal Armageddon is the cheapest below rm100 Then went to shop around so many brand such as imperion, Firerose, fantech....🤯
Which one better? Looking for 80% type.

Don't buy Armageddon for sure. Almost all of it is cheap plastic crap.
Tecware is the lowest quality you should aim for. Any cheaper than Tecware is just a waste of money.

CoolerMaster Trigger Z cherry mx brown switch 2. Ling Yi full size mechanical kb Outemu blue switch 3. Xiaomi RGB Gaming Keyboard TTC Red switch Item 1 & 2 i bought at the same time. Item 1 has a defective LED on key "Y" despite being a branded item. Item 2 is cheap but doesnt has any flaw until now. So ...buying known brands might not guarantee u good stuff these days.

I have 2 duckys, 1 corsair k63, and 1tecware. Id say there's definitely a quality difference between tecware and the rest but its still proportionate to what you pay. Check out ikbc at viewnet. Significantly better than tecware for under rm300.

before this, a friend of mine are using Razer KB not sure which model.... after spoilt I bought a cheapo membrane gaming KB and after more than 4 months he still ranked divine(not LOL, PUBG, COD....).
BTW, his Razer mouse going does off soon, last week he asked me again.... He will get another cheapo gaming mouse too....
it doesn't matter what brand you use, which model you use... It's your skills that matter...
*Anyone interested in cheapo gaming membrane KB can PM me.... (mouse maybe not since you guys have very high expectations)

I'm using cheap Gaming Freak mechanical keyboard.
Start with blue switch keyboard, really like the solid tactile feel but night time typing is really loud lol. Bought another GF keyboard, this time brown switch and RGB so can customized the light color. The sound is lesser, at night still a bit loud. But don't like the tactile feel, it feels spoingy. add o-ring to each keys and now it feel more solid and also reduce the sound.
I feel keyboard is same as mouse, you need to have a a feel and press it yourself to decide whether it is suitable for you. And different switch produce different sound and tactile, you need to check which one the best for you.

Recently got mine a ZuoYa RGB Red switches TKL MKB for less than RM90. Quite worth it! That is if you dislike Blue switches.

QUOTE(ghostcommand @ Oct 30 2019, 09:39 PM) I have been using Cooler Master Quickfire TK with Cherry MX brown switches for over 6 years and they still work like new. They cost around RM300. I would not trust those cheaper Chinese mechanical keys to last long. Always go for Cherry MX switches, they are good stuff. Once this was said by an iphone user to huawei chinese "cheap" phones. Look at where they are now?
