Checked, after long rain and flood.... Mine is not real but So call "high end copy" unit as all functions work properly... He shown me how to check my unit whether is original or not. Even you got the serial number which show in apple website is Airpods Pro, it may not mean that your unit is original... Walau... Anyway lesson learned. Anything just buy first hand from Apple retail store. Haha, i get some rest first (long Q). Later to post the method he shown to me.

From Apple service center feedback,

1) From the video I attached, if is original, the light that coming in from outside this case will be very very small (indicate that original one the case is more solid or better material) and also no hidden wording from the case.

2) The weight of the bud, he let me feel the weight of the original AirPods Pro and mine AirPods Pro, he mention original is heavier, but honestly is a bit hard for me to check it.

Hopefully provide the guide above can help other ppl buying second hand unit with Caution.

Point 1 is one very good checking point, where you can see the differences the light shine in the case.

Actually I kind of happy with my unit, just unable to update the firmware than only I realized this not original. This AirPods Pro is actually my colleague before resign give to me, as myself I won’t go buy it. Therefore no one to be blame on this matter. However is a good to let other ppl know about this

Finally, the serial number is NOT a good measure that your unit is original, so keep this in mind. (Don’t be like me, go to Apple website key in serial number than feel secured that Apple recognise as AirPods Pro.

Anyone have an experience where they exposed or drop their AirPods Pro charging case in water?
I left mine in my pants pocket and only realize it after I started the washing machine about 5 mins in. Lucky I pause and drain it.
The case was wet with the lightning port definitely in water, but luckily inside the case was dry inclusive of the earbuds.
Damn stress when wait it dry before I try charge it. Lucky all good for now. But wondering if the case is at least water resistant, since mine kena water at lightning port so very worried got after effect

I think it is water resistance though, so probably you are save if just soak a bit outer ?

The article u mentioned said it is not sweat or water resistant. But luckily my AirPods Pro case survived the washing machine.
I guess I’m so stressed is because I kena before last time iPhone 5s put in cheapo waterproof pouch then go water park. End up water leak inside a bit while phone went haywire. End up luckily can claim warranty maybe because the water didn manage to hit the water damage indicators.

Haha.. same here on my dad ipad mini gen1 last time.
Bottle inside the bag leak and ipad mini soaked inside.

That time the water indicator was at charging port there if not wrong.
So his ipad soaked on upper part and screen cannot use for top 1/2 part.

Lucky the liquid dmg indicator no change color and went to claim warranty XD

Not sure our airpods nowadays got those water dmg indicator or not

Just RMA the right side pod. used for ~ 14 months kaput already. luckily got AppleCare+.

wow, you went through all the troubles just to check the authenticity of a gifted airpods pro? kudos.

Mine's developed crackling on the left side now

Asked thunder to RMA and they asked for receipt, which I didn't get when buying from a shopee last time

But mine's confirmed original (can update firmware, warranty period info in iPhone's settings)

Other service centre like switch and machines ask for receipt also for RMA?

Last year when I went to switch, they never ask for receipt.

Today is my unlucky day. My AirPods Pro fell out of bag and I didn’t realise it. I was busy picking up things like my phone and I didn’t realise that the AirPods Pro was left behind. When I finally realised it several hours later, a car has driven passed it and it’s all shattered to pieces. As I use the AirPods a lot to talk on the phone. I’m thinking if I should just take the AirPods 3 or AirPods 2 cause it’s only at around RM589.

What’s the difference anyways?

Already bought AirPods Pro. It was an accident. No choices.

I went to the machines and claimed new, refurbished AirPods Pro. I think is a brand new site which excluded the charging case at Machines. I don’t understand why they want to take my case since they not going to change new one.

They won’t check the receipt and everything is based on the serial number from the charging case. Cheers.
