QUOTE(Mclaren @ Jan 19 2008, 09:40 PM) ...just saw this thread and found so much of negative feedback on this movie...i think i'm really regret of watching this movie without saw this thread as i thought it might be an interesting movie... really wasted my $$,time and the 1st ever movie i watched half way(after 45min) and walked out the cinema stright in order to save myself not been torture by the movie(sound funny right?? ).....becos me and my fren felt really uncomfortable, wan to vomit....ya...bcos of the the way they shoot this movie..perhaps,it might an exciting movie,but...i really cannot stand it.....rest at outside of cinema almost 15min and entered the cinema again, who knows it still the same way of shooting.and decided to leave the cinema... really wat a waste...... agree QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Jan 19 2008, 09:42 PM) With a little more research, you could have saved yourself 10 bucks and the numerous excuses churned in to say how much Cloverfield sucks. It's not for everyone, we get it. Garfield too isn't for everyone. Again, research could have saved you. RT or CinemaOnline are good places to start. but disagree with what kobe has said... sometimes in movie you are looking for the element of surprise or what some called fresh idea... no doubt it is good to do some research on what u are going to watch but to go into fine details has defeated the purpose of even visiting the cinema in the first place. For me, i read the synopsis of the story, and it sounds interesting to me... but after 30 minutes of watching the movie... i have realize that as interesting as it may sound, the camera shaking thing has really put me and also many of my friends off.. and i can see many people leaving before the hour mark... so yea.. this movie sux

QUOTE(ellimist @ Jan 19 2008, 10:05 PM) There is a difference between preference and a movie being of "sux" as you put it. I don't like it,ppl walk out = movie suxzomgbbq? *facepalm* no offence ... what is your impression on many people leaving the cinema before an hour? if that is a sign of good movie to u... i have nothing else to add...

anyway i find it really funny when we have a thread to discuss on the movie, ppl start talk about others review?
well if u like it, just say its good... if u dont like it what is it so bad to say it stinks?
why must kobe make statements such that ppl giving negative comments are being wrong???
:S

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Jan 19 2008, 10:31 PM) People who don't like it are wrong. that is a rather selfish statement, how can you say people who dont like it are wrong? camera shaking is just part of the issue, the story is rather simple, i can summarize it as a person trying to save his love one when a monster attack. Thats all that i can tell. There were no information on what the monster were, what damage it did, and did mankind stop it.... NO ONE KNOWS! all that i know is the main characters are dead or stuck under the bridge and lily was the only survivor.. meaningful?

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Jan 19 2008, 10:39 PM) Again, not knowing that is the fault of your own. Think of it as if you were experiencing the attack. Don't tell me if you were a victim of a sudden attack, you'd know who's behind it. Easy, take 9/11, how long was it before we knew it's Al Qaeda? So yes, it's meaningful as i have mention earlier, reading everything about the movie before even experiencing it yourself has already defeated the purposes of u even visiting the cinema.... if you could read everything about it, why even bother watching it? what many viewers around the world watches movie for the element of surprise what is coming from the story of the movie is very important. just like watching a football match.... if i were to tell you that a football ended at a 5-6... u would be surprise or even watch the game again... but what about the feel of hoping your team to win??

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Jan 19 2008, 10:46 PM) Using a user's example. If you hate KFC because you think the Spicy chicken is too spicy is retarded. If you hate KFC because it's fattening, it too is retarded. well in my opinion it is even more retard when a person hate another person for not liking KFC... if u get what i mean.

QUOTE(paco @ Jan 19 2008, 11:09 PM) totally agree with you. oh hell.yea, we have to do our own reseach on the back story before we watch movie, then what's the point to watch it? Movie should tell us the story at the moment we step into the cinema. If we have to dig out the storyline or the answer before or after watching the movie, I doubt what's the purpose of watching movie. Yeap.... that is part and also the main aim of even watching a movie..apart from that there is also the effect and the visuals stuff which is equally important... but u cant neglect the part of the story and just focus on the effects and visuals...
