Maybe this film is a 'prequel'.... to a the TV series 'Lost'... the smoke-monster aka Cerberus...

Or perhaps it's another 'let's just wait and see what is J.J. Abrams up to this time' thing...

Directed by Matt Reeves... he directed the pilot, first episode and season finale of "Felicity", a TV show created by J.J. Abrams.
Matt Reeves also directed The Pallbearer in 1996, and has returned in the director's seat...

Almost everyone on this production has worked on TV before.

I am very certain after this film is released, J.J. Abrams is off to work on Star Trek

Yeah... everytime the 'camcorder' turns to the suppose-to-be 'monster', either...

1. the camera shakes so much you can't see
2. the battery of the camera dies
3. someone blocks the camera
4. camera dude points at the wrong place
