Hey guys and girl, i need your advise and opinions on starting up a gaming website that provides news, updates, reviews and previews on the latest games on multi platforms like PC, Consoles: X-box 360, PS3, Wii, Hand helds: Nintendo DS Lite, PSP, etc. I mean like what do you think about it, if there was a gaming site that caters mostly to our local gaming community? So if things picks up can held more gaming tournaments on a larger scale once we get notice from the big guns in the gaming industry.
Wanna create a free site that caters to our local gaming community market. Because most of the available sites are mostly US based sites.Sort of like a gaming info site by gamers for gamers.
So would like feedbacks, advise and opinions from all you veteran gamers out there. So just drop your feedback here or you can pm me if you are too shy.
Thank you for you time and have a good day QS

my only advice is to get ppl who can really dedicate their time to the cause.
it doesnt matter how much they know about games or how long they've been playing games. it's how long they can keep it up.
you won't be able to do it alone so thats why having good people to help out consistently is important.
good luck.

Tried doing it before but real life commitments meant the project was abandoned before it even kicked off. But you will get lots of help if you ask for it. Previously, I got almost a team of 15 people but too bad they have to leave disappointed. So, my biggest advice is make sure you are able to put the time to get this running. Then, make sure you have the time and passion to maintain it. I wish you all the best

What thurtin and zio said is true.
Get people who can invest their time into receiving the latest news, and writing about them. No point posting a news 6 hours/1 day late when other game sites have wrote about them already.
You can have a small team, but hardworking, or a big team, with lighter workload.

You can always start of with a blog first, like what I'm doing now. Besides, recycling news is a bit boring, focus on creating original content perhaps?

Just make sure the teammate is REALLY dedicated to write. I'm invited to write stuff for some local gaming site for 3 TIMES, but all 3 sites closed due to lost interest even before the site is launched.

Although planning is essential, too long of a planning period means the interest will wane over time.
Get something out quick, even though it might not be the best. The quickest and surest way to get feedback from your readers is showing them what you have.
No point discussing among yourselves on what work and what doesn't when ultimately, the readers decide most of that.
