Someone please help me. Recently, I installed the Boot Camp with Vista. I was using it but then I wanted to remove the Vista. So I launched the Boot Camp Assistant in Applications -> Utilities -> Boot Camp Assistant. When I click restore partition to single startup volume only. It couldn't finish the task. So I reformated the Macintosh. I used Clean Install. And the volume that had Vista in it, I clicked something but I can't remember. Once everything was finished the Vista HDD or partition was still there. So I did the same process of removing the partition through Boot Camp to a single startup volume and it worked. But now I am getting bored and miss Vista, so I tried to create a new partition but half way it said, "Error, couldn't move some files. Try fixing by backing up DATA and format the drive as Mac OS X Journaled". I opened up Disk Utility and click "Verify Disk Permissions" and then "Repair Disk Permissions" and then "Verify Disk" and then "Repair Disk" but halfway through repairing the disk it said "Stopped by User" in Red. Did it 3 times but failed and get the same error message.

Someone please help me. Thanks in advance. sure it's free. GParted is open-source and like partition magic (in window). http://gparted.sourceforge.net/screenshots.php And i not sure how GParted can solve your problem. What's your problem actually? Sorry cos' i read your post and find it confusing Although i'm don't own a mac machine, but i using hackintosh As long as your mac osx got problem, you should use diskutility to fix and repair. Or you can use your mac osx dvd and boot it up. Then open diskutility to fix and repair permission. Or sometimes it's alot better to use terminal

Not sure how to use Terminal la. I am in school la. Just read my first post again and you should understand it. I got into Disk Utility but I can't click reformat button because it is a Startup Disk which can't be partitioned.

The easiest way is to re-install everything from another mac. Or you can try this if you only have one mac: - Insert your OSX DVD. Start the installer and let your mac restart. - In the Installation, there's a Apple menu bar like the actual installed OSX, click on the Utilities --> Disk Utility. - In Disk Utility select your HDD (not the volume but the main HDD). Click on the Partition, click on Options..., makesure you select the first option "GUID partition". Click OK, change the partition to single, click partition. - After the formating complete, restart and proceed to OSX installation as you should.

Wei answer your problem Like i said before, as long as your mac got problem, use diskutility. In my post i got mention using your MAC OSX DVD and go to diskutility to fix and repair permission or whatever.

Okay, got it. Will try it end of the week. My Dad doesn't let me use the computer on weekdays. Will reply at the end of the week. Thanks in advance.
Added on July 13, 2007, 7:35 pmI tried it already with the Mac OS X DVD Install 1 in the DVD-Drive. I clicked on the icon, went into Applications and then Utilities and then Disk Utility. I did all the thing verify permissions and repair permissions and verify disk. All okay no problems detected or found. When I verify the disk at the end got green colour words HFS volume passed verification. Need more help please. Thanks in advance.
Added on July 16, 2007, 7:55 pmOkay guys, sorry for the late reply. I did what allvin said and it didn't work. So I did what wei said but it still didn't work. So I decided that the end of the week I send it to Machines or do what wei said but instead partition it into two partitions so that there will be one 45GB and one 15GB partition. I hope that Boot Camp Assistant will detect the partition so I don't have to reformat it again. Because in Boot Camp it has to create the partition and I already created the partition so maybe it will ask me whether I want to use the partition I create. Comments and suggestions please. Thanks in advance.
