Not a fan of uniqlo, if low budget then no choice. I'm the kind who wears jeans everyday, day and night. And I usually rotate between 2 pairs, they usually last me 1-2 years max then it will start to rip.

I'd recommend Levi's 1-2 years and no sign of tears or rips so far. Pay a bit extra, you get thicker and durable and the dye doesn't come off as easily. I used to have shirts or my skin will usully get stained with some dye with uniqlo jeans.

Now saving up to get some good jeans from Japan on my next trip there.

I agree with u, Levi's is just another level of quality, very durable and their quality is just top notch. Although their pricing is a bit ex but it's worth every penny, I've seen Uniqlo's one and it's priced at around 150-170, actually about the same with levi's, give or take 10-20 ringgit. Still thinking though, no rush for me. Btw, isn't fading suppose to be a denim's unique characteristic ?

My uniqlo jeans faded also, but it bled its dye, my Levi's never bled its dye on anything before.

This honeycomb fade can only be achieved if u wear a raw denim. a rigid one that is. u need to find a raw denim (meaning no wash and shit and then u can achieved that kind of honeycomb. and that denim if im not mistaken is a heavyweight denim and a selvedge one (probably iron heart around 19oz -25 oz)
And heavyweight denim is not cheap. even locally made can go for around rm400-600.

that is because most of levis jeans are washed or one washed to keep the color kindda intact. u should try LVC and the raw ones from levis. it'll bleed alot like uniqlo too.

on the side note, uniqlo is what i consider a reasonable priced denim and u can get a sick fade also. ive seen my brother uniqlo fade nicely and still intact. also if u can get unbranded brand its should be cheap too but a tad expensive than the 501s one lah. minus the LVC 501 that is.

I see, well based on what u said, and a few others, I think I'm mostly placing my choice on Uniqlo's Selvedge jeans, they are around 140-150+ though, slightly cheaper than Levi's. Unbranded one like which ? I would need a head start to where i can find in malls.

thats the problem. i even dont know where u can get one. u can try at kronoz at farenheit 88. but i cant guarantee if they still carry it.

but even unbranded brand gonna cost u around rm300++ if im not mistaken.

for just raw denim u can check out cheese denim. its a local made jeans and the raw ones non selvedge is around rm200+-.

but then again, i think if for ur conveniences, just go to uniqlo and get one. who knows there's a sale for the jeans lol.

That's true, I plan to just get uniqlo selvedge jeans, i mean, raw denim or denim, both will still fade as well over time right ? As long as it's a denim material ? Since u also said ur bro's uniqlo jeans fade very nicely.

if u want the fade like the pic or at least like that, take the raw denim (the indigo is still blue and not like worn out denim). if im not mistaken uniqlo itself is a one wash but u can achieved that kindda fade. just to let u know my brother wore that denim like almost 3 years and only wash it like 2 times (yeah i know its kindda gross) but if u want the high contrast fade, less wash and wear it like everyday or every chance u get.

good luck. if u have the financial do peek on japanese denim. but the price is kindda steep.

I see, does uniqlo's one fades just as well ? I mean it's a denim product so it definitely fades according to wearer over time ?

Yes

color do fades...but is not very noticeable..

Says who? Depends what you define as noticeable. My Uniqlo is definitely noticeable.

I had a pair of MIJ 511 raw selvedge. Versus the Uniqlo, the Uniqlo is lighter weight than the Levi’s, more suitable for hot weather.
