If our footballers really get paid by sponsors only, then they eat maggi their whole life la. If we want a decent national team then we need to invest in it.

I used to have a footballer rent my house last time. If u want to say they are super rich, no they are not and their careers don't even last very long.

Private owned team / club = paid by the club owner

Do you know that FIFA forbid gomen intervention in football association? FAM is not run by gomen and get money from gomen. Same like state football association. It just that like other commentor said, it run on patronage and the highesy patronage you can get is either by the royals like Johor or by state head.
