Poor performance by the team and manager....but its a learning process for frank and the team.... have to move forward we get them next time.

p.s - alonso & pedro time are up hopefully in the summer we can move them and get good replacement like B.chilwell & Sancho

I think he tried it once in pre-season and it didn't work out, and he ditched the idea entirely. With our midfield permanently in injury crisis, you'd think he'd experiment with one of the positions where we've been injury free.

I'm not too fussed about being kicked out of the carabao cup though. The real attraction of keeping tabs on the competition was seeing our brightest prospects (kakuta, josh mc eachran, solanke, etc in the past) in action. But now that our best young stars are firmly part of the the first team squad in the form of CHO, tomori, mount, tammy,etc, there really is no reason to go on a cup run which serves to overwork them even further.

In the past I'd always refer to the competition as the 'mickey mouse cup' just to soften the blow whenever we get eliminated

But this season it's exactly that. No real incentive to remain in it, we don't have the squad to commit, and we simply have bigger fish to fry.

Note: Utd have gone on to lose to Bournemouth, now the carabao has become an unwanted distraction for them as well.
