Has anyone been charged with inactivity fees before? Have a friend using pure IBKR and told me he hasn't been charged. Said he probably didnt accumulate $120 in commissions too.

Also for transferwise there seems to be a limit of only rm30k going out from the account per transfer. Does everyone do multiple transfers?

If I have $100k in total spread across multiple currency or my stock values are more than $100k, I'd be spared from the inactivity fee right?

how much is a non pro account to see live trading on options, delay in option pricing is annoying as i need to click the snapshot everytime

1. I've recently opened an IB account through Trade Station Global. IBKR account got activated and I can log in. However when I try to link the IB account to the TSG account, I couldn't find the "Create, Move, Link or Partition an Account" link to do so. I emailed TSG customer support to get assistance and in their email they mentioned that my TSG account has been linked to IB account. Is there any indicator on the IB account if it has been linked to the TSG account? I worry if the TSG customer service were mistaken, then later I kena charged the inactivity fees by IB.

2. I've used InstaReM to transfer MYR->GBP to my IB account. First transfer, the fund went through alright. However since it was less then the TSG required amount of USD2500, I did a second transfer to top up to the required amount. Although I received confirmation from InstaReM that the money has been successfully deposited into Interactive Brokers UK Limited account, the amount is not reflected in my IB account. Does it take a few days for the fund to be reflected in the IB account?

hi sifus, can i know why am i keep getting the notification of margin cushion: 0.15% from IBKR? i have always been using cash to trade, never used any margin b4.... im new to this, and getting worried about this. hopefully any1 can help me on this. thx!

It has been bugging me as well - can't find ways to disable it, since cash account's margin value is $0 - so when your cash balance is <6% of your portfolio they'll notify you daily

I switched my account to Margin Account (obv. for other reasons, not because of notification....) and stopped receiving it.

I've been using interactive broker for the last 3 months trading US Stocks. I funded the account using my US Bank (I used to work in the US - so got some savings la) I also linked my Maybank for withdrawal (also my transferwise borderless acct, just incase)- yet to do any withdrawals though

However, I found a post on lowyat saying Maybank (or Bank Negara) blocks transactions from IB for their affiliation with forex? Hence cant fund or withdraw money to a local bank?

One question I couldn't answer my lawyer friend is that - is IB legal in Malaysia? Will BNM block the funds to be transferred back to our local banks?
I don't find any article/documents suggesting IB is illegal in Malaysia - and seems to the first recommended platform if want to trade US stocks from Malaysia.

is it illegal to trade at ib or any overseas broker? this is silent as in no regulations to say you can't as I'm aware, but I didn't dig deep... regulations mostly on how much money you can send out for investment, etc...

SC is banning a lot of legit brokers nowadays even when they have no business here...

bnm won't block incoming funds... banks will flag it and call you... get flagged too often without a good answer they will report you for investigations

suspicious transactions will be flagged whether in sg or my... up to the banks how they trigger aml checking...

he has us bank, work history/records... can initiate xfer from there... repatriate salary as reason... easy no issue

I am sorry for asking this question, its not related to IBKR but related to TDA Singapore.  as you know, TDA was added to the SC investor alert list last year. so TDA is on the list, and i bet that includes TDA Singapore. I already had the account before TDA was added to the list. I have some money in that account. I am genuinely worried if I'm screwed and unable to bring back my money. I have not tried withdrawing my money yet because I don't want to sell my stonks. Is TDA being on the alert list mean I'm really f*cked?

Ah I never got to try direct USD funding from Wise yet, the only time I did and was successful was my leftover Euros from trip... There was no fee at all, so thanks for the info.

I personally continued with the SGD route as I compared the rates SGD vs USD and didn't see much difference ... Don't wanna trigger Wise compliance check because IIRC they mandate that you as sender, must send from an account of the same name -- SunwayMoney/MoneyMatch would be labelled otherwise, so they violate that rule. (Others please CMIIW)

instead of allowing you to deposit MYR right into IBKR balance

Buy FCPO, convert from SGD to MYR. Sell FCPO, convert to SGD from MYR.

Today is Singapore public holiday, I just transferred via SG bank to IBKR citibank. Public holiday and over weekends they don't work? Meaning my money will only be reflected in IBKR on Monday morning? Anyone knows?
