Hi guys, I just enrolled into the Stock Yield Enhancement Program in IBKR last month and found that the returns (interest) generated for certain stocks being lent out are much higher than expected when I reviewed my activity statement.
I thought that it'd be good to share about this for those that didn't know, especially if you own stocks with heavy short interest and relatively low float.
For example, I own HYLN shares and the interest rate for shorting HYLN is currently at 342% as of yesterday. As IBKR will payout
50% of the interest to you on a daily basis, you'll be paid 171% or about 14% monthly based on current value of the stock.
Of course, this sky high rate is not sustainable and interest rate varies daily. It has varied between 100-350% in the past month for HYLN, and some of the other stocks I lent out have around 2% to 105% interest rate. Blue chips like AAPL will have an under 1% rate though

Nevertheless, I think that this is quite profitable in the long run with relatively low risks involved.
